A few thoughts
Didn't see much of UNO-WKU but initially thought UNO had a decent crowd until I realized it was MT fans rooting for UNO or against WKU. 02-13-banana

Big kudos to MT, very good presence today despite not having a team playing today. Saw blue most everywhere I went.

Props to Denver, largest Denver contingent I've seen at a tournament. At least 50 people maybe more (their shade of red is similar to UALR's and Troy's so I only guesstimated based on the people who stood during player introductions).

Convention Center court is pretty sweet set-up. Some talk that next year each arena may have one video board dedicated to showing what is happening on the other court.

UALR beat writer estimated ASU out-numbered UALR 20-1 before the UALR student bus arrived. Still pretty close estimate. Trojan fans wrote this team off.

If you are in Summit tomorrow and the bathroom lines are long, go to the Convention Center court, unless they are in halftime, no lines.

Press row is a bear in the Convention Center because the pep bands seem louder in the smaller, especially bad on the lower seed end because they are very close to press row, higher seed end they are closer to team benches.

The Hot Springs paper did a special section today for the tournament.

A few articles from today and yesterday.
Resort City Welcomes Sun Belt

I'd bet it was more 'against' wku...

NO. Why would MT fans root against WKU. Unthinkable. 03-melodramatic

Well, we had nothing else to do. Both our teams got that first round bye.

RE: A few thoughts
Where the heck are all the Troy fans?

I counted, twice, during their game tonight against USA. There were exactly 37 people in Trojans apparel or sitting within a seat of someone wearing Trojans gear, and that's assuming that none of them were UALR fans sitting behind the Troy bench (there are still about a dozen UALR folks bouncing around here).

37. That's fewer people than the number of students who rode the charter bus up from Denton today alone.

What gives?

Many of my Troy fan friends live in Florida. It's a darn long, expensive (especially to fly) trip. The timing of the games is terrible for people with jobs.

Like I've been saying the demographics of basketball tournaments is college kids and people over 45 who don't have kids at home.

I couldn't make it because of work. Today is Pro Day at Troy. Also, Troy is on spring break this week. College students weighing the options of beach vs Hot Springs. Beach is going to win.

Which would also be true of a trip to Birmingham, Huntsville, or Nashville.

It could be in Troy at spring break and they would still go to the beach.

So the tournament should be in Mobile? 03-wink

Boca Raton or Palm Beach. It's 80-plus here.

There is also that Troy jinx, dating back to the ASUN days when we would win the season title and collapse in the tourney.

Thanks for the props. 50 might not sound like a lot, but all of them are buying plane tickets to get to Hot Springs, and that means they care. The Denver program is starting to grow on the court and off the court. Most of DU fans here are still hockey-centric, but when basketball goes 15 for 16 at home, at least the fans are coming out to see a team that gives it's all. With only one player graduating, we hope next year's team could be good enough to contend.

You guys were contending this year. More than 9 other teams, at least.

Congrats on a great tournament run, and good luck against everyone but North Texas next season.
