RE: Sun Belt Tournament move?
Its ok the AD and Presidents also want to expand the NCAA tournament to 95 teams, so teams will feel better about themselves....This year there are not 45 worthy NCAA tournament teams much less 95......

I saw three amazing men's games yesterday that involved teams lower than an 8 seed.

Please don't try to compare Hot Springs to NOLA. You know the food nowhere close to matches up, nor does the night life. Also, I can fly into NOLA, ride a shuttle and be in NOLA. Car Rental is more $$.

Again, I don't disagree with the decision to got to Hot Springs. It made the most sense financially. I respect that.

You know well enough I didn't equate NOLA dining with Hot Springs, it's a helluva leap to twist "Hot Springs has some very good eating establishments" into Hot Spings = NOLA in dining.

Lakefront is just a touch over 6 miles from the Quarter so you are going to either rent a car or take a cab to get from a hotel to the games to the nightlife.

The cab from the airport to hotels around the Quarter is $33 one-way and shuttle is $20. Shuttle from LIT to Hot Springs is $32 and you can walk to the arena from many hotels as well as to the bars and restaurants.

Handy excuse list for going to NOLA

1. Chicory coffee craving.
2. Need a fried breakfast pastry slathered in powdered sugar.
3. Craving gulf shrimp doused in garlic, cream, and cheese or maybe just deep fried.
4. Lost my beeds need to get new ones.
5. Sense of decency found me, need to lose it again.
6. Need someone to tell me where I got my shoes.
7. It's a day ending in Y

1: 6'4" transvestites 'painted' silver posing as statues with bucket for change for their 'performance'.
2: raw oysters on the half-shell...never can get enough.
3: listening to a cabbie complain about the saints but you can tell he dies for them. (this was before this year of course)
4: standing in the french quarter and trying to figure out who in the hell thought it was a great idear to build a city below sea level. that actually hit me like a 2X4 20+ years ago when i found that out. way before katrina revealed that fact to the rest of the country.

My problem with Hot Springs and why I can't go is that I would have to take too many days off work if you count travel time. If we move the 1st round to campus sites, I wouldn't have to take as many days off to go to the neutral site. Besides, how many fans from the lower seeded teams actual travel to Hot Springs to more than likely see their team bounced in the first round?

I am with some of the others that would like to see it in a place with a better nightlife such as Nashville, Memphis, or NO.

We can't go to campus sites because the presidents and chancellors say we can't. They came to Hot Springs last year and came to the conclusion it was a great event that all should participate in.

If four days is too many then you wouldn't be able to go to the C-USA tournament which is four days in Tulsa, and rumored to possibly move to El Paso.

Again the funny thing is people who haven't been to the event say its a boring place with nothing to do. The people who have gone don't make that complaint. In weighing the credibility of the witnesses, those actually attending are more credible.

You make good points earlier about the conference being wanted, but how important is that really? Isn't all that matters are that facilities are in place, its accessible, and fans and teams find it acceptable? Our coaches had their final coaches show before leaving for the tourney last week and said that last year in Hot Springs the site had a hard time feeding everyone. Feeding the teams and coaches for crying out loud!

Can people that are on the fence be expected to take off of work for several days, fork over the $ for an extended stay to a place that they know nothing about and that doesn't offer the tourist type attractions that does a N.O. or Nashville? Not to mention college students?? If it's in a larger city where there are other acitivites, I am much more likely to go because I know that I am going to get my monies worth out of my vacation, instead of just watching basketball and getting a beer. Sorry, just the way it is. I have no desire to try all the restaurants in Hot Springs, AR or watch Denver vs FIU.

If you want to find a neutal city that will be willing to host the tournament be our guest, but Nola doesnt promote the Bowl game very well and I cant imagine half the city would even know there was a basketball tourney in town. This thing will be in hot springs till someone puts up the effort hot springs does to host this thing. Something no one has shown a willingness to do just yet

I must admit your argument is better then the Hilltopper haven we should hold this tournament at Bowling Green, KY argument
