Fantasy Baseball
Does anyone have a buy in fantasy baseball league? I swore off fantasy baseball twice but am contemplating playing again. I might end up buying the MLB.tv package and I figure I'll get more use out of my $120 investment if I play fantasy baseball.
Anyway let me know if anyone needs a manager in a fantasy league...hopefully one that uses LeagueSafe or something for finances.
On a side note, I was invited to a league but it is NL only, 6x6 roto with auction value draft. I don't mind 6x6 but I'm not really into the NL only thing...why do that besides to thin out the talent pool?
Also, I honestly think that the best way to do fantasy baseball is to split the baseball season into two fantasy seasons. Re-draft at the all-star break and have the teams who sucked ass in the first half draft first etc. You could allow each team to keep a certain number of players (2 positional players, 2 pitchers) but the rest of the players would become free agents. Every time I have played fantasy baseball I get bored as hell with it even if I'm doing well. I figure another draft would be a way to get people interested again...especially if you can do live, in person drafts where everyone is having drinks and eating etc.

Only one way to find out. I would have no problem setting up the league and a LeagueSafe account. 12 would be ideal...not sure we have that many people interested in fantasy sports on here

RE: Fantasy Baseball
i'm in a league...12 players, 8 hitting stats (R,HR,RBI,BB,K,SB,OPS), 8 pitching stats (W,L,SV,K,ERA,HR,WHIP,K/BB)
pretty much the rankings you see in the magazines and online may not necessarily apply. its a good league

Any details on stat categories etc? I'm more interested in a roto league (and probably a little more money involved) but something is better than nothing. I took the plunge and wasted $120 on mlb.tv yesterday so I'd like to find a league.

I know I have at least one friend who is interested so that would be 5. Do you guys have any extras that might want to play? 12 would probably be ideal. I was thinking $50 a team, 6x6 roto but we can discuss the details and decide on something if we get enough guys.

RE: Fantasy Baseball
Just joined a $100 league with some co-workers and friends. We are looking for a few more people and hoping to draft Sunday late afternoon/evening.
Some rules I can think of off the top of my head:
Basic scoring with negative points (errors, strikeouts, double plays, walks issued, blown saves, earned runs, losses, and hits allowed)
Lineup consists of one player for each position (3OFs ofcourse), plus two utility players for any position. 8 bench spots.
9 pitchers (6 starters, 3 relievers).
From what I have been told, its a pretty competitive league, most of the players lives and jobs revolve around fantasy sports.

RE: Fantasy Baseball
Anybody??? Come on.. You'll be playing against CEO/COOs of a couple different successful fantasy websites. Money does not have to be turned in right away.
Draft is Sunday at 3

RE: Fantasy Baseball
I'd love to but I already got suckered in to playing in some bull**** NL only league. I had never auction drafted, so my team is already terrible, and I've lost all interest before the season has even started. I would have been better off swallowing a $50 bill.
Plus I'm not a fan of having a ton of statistical categories. 5x5 or 6x6 roto is the way to go.
