There are such things as fiscally responsible democrats, in fact many of them are in congress. You people used to call us 'tax and spend democrats'. The only difference this time is we're in an economic recession, and macroeconomics (ECON1304 @ UH) says to stimulate economic growth you increase government spending and cut taxes comparatively to the loss in GDP.

This ISN'T the time to "tighten the belt". Worry about debt when the economy is fine. It is so funny to go though eight years of record debt and hear nothing from the right. Now one year into this administration, in a recession, everyone [on the right] is crying/protesting

Ok, so...drop trillions like Monopoly money when the economy is bad, which, according to Keyensians like you, "fixes" the economy. So later, when the economy is "fine" and we have debt exponentially higher than the record debt acquired under W, it's time to "worry about it" according to you. Ok, so what's the fix? THERE IS NONE...hence the fatal flaw in Keynesian economics. It's just "kick the can down the road" and leave worrying about the stifling debt to future generations. We all (at least, everyone with a little common sense) know that no politician is going to cut spending enough to make up for the shortfall becuse it would be political suicide, so what happens then? We end up borrowing more to cover the interest on our past debts, and the snowball grows. Gov't does not have money of it's own, so essentially it is just taking money from its citizens and spending it for them. Please tell me how that creates wealth and promotes true economic healing.
