Nah. THat isn't dorky. It is pathetic. :)

Btw, I am watching the show on King Tut on Discovery Channel. I didn't even know the game was on yet. I just checked, it is 3-2 US over Canada in the third period.

I too watched a few minutes of Tut's knee being drilled into by scientists nearly 3,000 years later. I still find it creepy that RIP does not really apply to many remains.....He was a human being ....and I also found the Native American skeleton's once on display in open graves at Dickson Mounds equally creepy and disrespectful no matter how long ago a human died.

It's partly the reason why my wife was cremated and so will I be cremated.

So females between the age of 18 and 45 and cyberdawg are responsible for bumping USA/Canada to msnbc.

And the fact that few in the US really give a sh!t about hockey. I couldn't even name one pro hockey player in the NHF currently. Ok maybe one, I think someone has a Blackhawks jersey as their sig with the name Towes on it.

NIURB,

I am not much a hockey fan myself either but most NHL and minor league stadiums are sold out regularly and the ratings for many games are often very respectable.

I say your hyperbole is out of touch with a loyal and respectable hockey folllowing in USA. You must not watch 10pm news & sports segments much. Blackhawks are oftentimes the lead story. Hockey merchandising is HUGE.

THe US Canada game provided MSNBC with it's highest ratings since President Obama's inauguration and it's 2nd highest rating of all time. That's saying something.

Imagine what a Sunday night USA-Canada rematch will do ratings wise

Could be. I just assumed they would save it for primetime for the Canadian audience. Either way, it would be crazy.

nbcolympics.com and vancouver2010.com both have it listed as 2:15pm central. The afternoon time slot works better for me that day, so I hope it is then. I would have to fake an illness to get out of a date Sunday night if the game was in primetime.

Blackhawks have sold out every game this year whereas the Bulls have not, put that up your pipe and smoke it. Stick to your figureskating.

Hockey is more popular in Chicago and across the US than many think. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Hawks were #1 in Chicago. The Hawks continue to regain the popularity they once had. Try getting a ticket to a Hawks game. In fact, the Wolves are doing very well (as far as AHL teams go) in attendance. Stores have been doing very well in selling Hawks merchandise. I have never seen more people wearing Hawks stuff than now. The turnaround is amazing and it will continue to go up.

The Hawks actually were #1 in Chicago into the early 1980's and when I say #1; there were seasons in which they outdrew the Cubs and/or the White Sox in attendance despite playing half as many home games.

Not only are the Wolves in 1st place (again), winning 8 of their last 10(1 shootout loss) they are #3 in AHL attendance (7371) with 11 home games left.
