O'Lielly on Tiger
"I'm not a golfer, and I don't know if he's the best, I don't know if he's as good as a Sam Snead or Ben Hogan"

Bill, you are a flippin' moron. Tiger is the greatest golfer to ever play the game. I AM a golfer, live in pretty much the US capitol of Golf, and he's it. You should probably read up on your facts before you start spouting BS you know nothing about. ...but it's not like this is the first time you've done this. He's also playing against a field that's much more experienced than those two were. Hell, even Nicklaus and Palmer.

Reb, as far as striking the ball and shooting low scores Woody is the best. But golf traditionalists say golf is more than just a low score, it's sportsmanshp, integrity, and being a gentleman and in that regard, Woody fails. He has temper tantrums, curses and throws his clubs etc. and I think some of the players have tried to call him out on it but his popularity kept it from becoming a big story.

Another possible was to look at this is to ask is Barry Bonds the greatest home run hitter in the world or did he just happen to hit the most? And many football fans still say Jim Brown was the greatest runner of all time yet 8 or 9 guys surpassed him.

If we talk about this entire situation I think Woods will come back as good as he was. I don't know if he will get some of his fans back, but if you think about it he's not the first and he isn't the last high profile person to cheat on his wife.

Greatest golfer to ever live. Most of his fans never left. Only the self-righteous ones. ...and they'll be back. Did he fk up? Yes. With me? No. I didn't paint him as a God. He's a golfer, the greatest that ever lived. He's also still young and been living a lifestyle that creates these sorts of situations. It's his fault, sure, but again, he's a golfer. People, regardless of what idiots think, look up to him for his play on the field. Not his play on the hairy field.

sorry, but that's one of the dumber things i've ever read. the bonds and brown scenarios don't compare to the Woods scenario. Emmitt Smith isn't the best running back of all time but he is the most prolific. Bonds is the most prolific, but may or may not be the best depending on who you ask. If bonds isn't, then who is? But that's besides the point.

I just read the rest. smn, read about the person that wrote the book on Golf etiquette, better known as Bobby Jones. He acted EXACTLY like Woods before he fell from grace.

If he had said Nicklaus I could at least fathom the idea... I'd say Tiger is the best ever, but Jack Nicklaus is also head and shoulders above everyone else to play the game (outside of Tiger, obviously).

i don't know if this is true or not and frankly i don't care, because, like reb, i don't like o'reilly. However could you choose a more left wing site? This quote is absurd "All right wing celebrity authors hire ghost writers to do their literary heavy lifting." Yeah, because left wing writers definitely don't do that

I can give you a link to the civil complaint off the Smoking Gun, but this was easiest.

O'Reilly and Fox settled the suit with Macris for 7 figures.

Well, there's this. Certainly no documentation (which you wouldn't expect from a confidential settlement), but considering the short duration of negotiations and the starting number, it certainly is plausible.
