Medina might beat Hutchison in Texas
Wow this would shock me if it occurs. I know Kay Bailey Hutchison is not generating any interest in the Texas Governor race, but she is basically in a statistical tie with Debra Medina now. It's probably going to be a run-off with one of those two and Rick Perry, who leads both by about 10 pct. points now.

KBH not making the run-off would be as big of a shock to me as some of the recent senate/governor results across the nation. It would be huge for the Tea Party - would this be the most significant victory for this party on the Republican side of things??

For what it's worth, I plan to vote for Debra.

I think there's a lot of TEA Party in Scott Brown's victory, and I would consider that more significant than this.

That would be pretty significant. With the campaign KBH has run, it's hard to see how she won the race as Railroad Commissioner, much less Senator. What's even more astounding is that Shami is in double digits. I have yet to hear the guy say anything that leads me to think that could manage a McDonalds franchise, much less governor.

KBH's campaign is being managed worse than Martha Coakley's.

Running against a corrupt jerk like Rick Perry, KBH should be up by 10 points.

I take that back after her comments (or lack of them) today on the Glenn Beck show. Buh-bye.

do you believe what she said on the radio, or the statement she released later? it's possible she just froze up on the air.

That ranks pretty high up there on the moron factor. Things you can say, which will guarantee you're not elected in this country:
- (Outright racist statement)
- I'm gay.
- I don't believe in God.
- 9/11 was an inside job.

Whether or not her press release is her real thoughts or not is irrelevant. She's done.

Well I don't know about the gay part. We just elected an openly gay mayor in Houston. But probably on the others (although I say that and who knows, maybe we have an atheist mayor too).

She's basically a political amateur and did not want to paint herself into a box where she had to dismiss people when she probably doesn't have much room to lose anyone in her campaign. She didn't come off as a complete loon to me as much as an amateur. She did say some things where she really should have known better.

In this election, or future ones?

Honestly, I think she's toast for any prominent election.

She is history. Texas has no room for progressive republicans.
She could move to Michigan and maybe win.

You forgot the classic Mondale "I'll raise your taxes" kiss of death.

I remember watching the Democratic convention in '84 with my dad. Mondale said, "Ronald Reagan will raise your taxes, and I will raise your taxes. The difference is: Ronald Reagan won't tell you, and I just did."

You could hear the air being sucked out of the room.

My dad said, "You, sir, have just sealed your fate."

Electoral beatdown of historic proportions ensued.

RE: Medina might beat Hutchison in Texas
Medina makes a bold move, from mindlessly open minded to having an opinion. John Stossel's Facebook post seems to imply that most of her followers are troofers. Alex Jones is very disturbed (his words, not noting the irony). Perry is bad news, Hutchison is a Bilderberger, and now Alex Jones wants an apology and clarification for calling him "horrible, despicable, evil". But, I guess if she clarifies or apologizes, he won't withdraw his support for her. Yeah, if will pull out now (ok, maybe after a few more quick thrusts), his wife won't leave him.

Oh, and yes, Alex, you're despicable.
