Going up the ladder, I could understand.....this move.....I don't understand at all.

Well, at least its completely in the off-season. We can have a new guy in place in time for Spring drills. I just have no idea who we'd look to. An FCS OC maybe?

Mora was available to Seattle because he was fired by Atlanta.

Mora was a casuality in the Michael Vick dogfighting fallout.

So...I blame Michael Vick.

Hate to see CTF make this move. It's a mistake, IMO. He must enjoy travelling to places west. Moving to ltu doesn't do a lot for his resume.

I can tell you he that he will probably leave in 1 year

expect a lot of screen passes and dump passes. Franklin doesn't necessarily pass to set up the run. and it would be better if there is a dual-threat QB to run it.

Yuck. Been there, done that.... I'm convinced a strong running game and good play-action passing is the best way to win games... ala Boise State and TCU. But defense plays the biggest role in wins and losses.

When recruiting against LaTech, simply ask the player how long do they plan to play for TF. 4 jobs in 5 years isn't good no matter what profession you are in.

Now I am starting to see why so many people were not sold on TF. I am glad we got him when we did, and he sure helped us...that being said I don't know if I would have hired him now. Going to Troy would have been one thing...he has history, but a lateral move such as this just doesn't seem right.

By reputation Franklin has had difficulty getting along with his bosses. I think he does some interesting things, he has I think, a rather novel approach to playcalling. Most OC's and their head coaches tend to subscribe to the theory that you find an element in a game you can do well, dare the opponent to stop it and then exploit the weakness created by the effort to stop that element. Franklin's approach looks more random (I bet a computer breakdown of film reveals it is not) as he just throws a lot of stuff looking for a blown assignment or mismatch. I don't think he passes to set up a run or runs to set up a pass but rather does a little of everything to force defenses to stay base. In many ways he is the true disciple of the spread philosophy.

you won't see a single play-action pass ever made while Franklin is there. QB is never going to be under center.

Also, remember that Dooley was Tennessee's FIFTH choice. If any one of the first four take the job, Dooley is still at Tech and Franklin is still at MidTenn.
