What's the story in Florida (Crist-Rubio)?
Okay I'm in Texas so I am not following the senate primary race between Crist and Rubio in Florida. But I have to admit, even though I am one of the few mostly liberal folks on this part of the site, I like Crist. Maybe that's the issue but I'm still surprised to see he is now trailing by quite a bit in Florida.

Any Floridians care to shed some light on why Crist is now trailing and Rubio is now leading?

Crist has white hair. Rubio has black. This is the year for black.

Simple, Floridians are not as liberal as you are.

Could have sworn it had something to do with the black/white hair thing. Maybe that little birdie was actually a bat.

Well then the country isn't as moderate as you would like to believe either. Florida and Texas - it appears much more conservative candidates are winning over more moderate Republicans.

Florida and Texas are probably both more conservative than the US as a whole.

Scott Brown is the kind of republican who can win in a less conservative state. I'm sure he and I would disagree on some issue, but so far I haven't found it.

Florida isn't as conservative(fiscally) as you think. My panhandle is, but the rest, not so much.

Rubio has slightly more money, but more grass roots support because of the Tea Party groups.

Crist is the typical "establishment" Republican candidate.

As a Floridian, the state is pretty fiscally conservative. We have a balanced budget amendment. As such, the state is not in debt.
