States' AGs Challenging Health Care Deal
13 AGs threaten suit. Does this have any teeth?

Quote:Republican attorneys general in 13 states say congressional leaders must remove Nebraska's political deal from the federal health care reform bill or face legal action, according to a letter provided to The Associated Press Wednesday.

Let's hope so. So much political posturing has gone on w/ all of this, I'm pretty skeptical.

I'm skeptical, too. If they really did sue, how long would it take for the case to be heard? The appeals?

I think this may be just the first salvo. The constitutionally of much more will be questioned if it gets signed into law. There is the unfunded mandate to the states which will affect property taxes in border states much more than northern states.

However, I put no faith in the SCOTUS, either. Out of 9,000 cases put to them each year, they hear only about 100.
