Pac 10 is pretty mediocre this year.

If it weren't for USC being so consistently overrated, the Pac Tin would be in trouble for their BCS status...

PAC-10 = MWC's beotch, yet, it will be the BE's bid that remains in question.

Are you sure? I could have sworn most of the computers had the Pac-10 as the second-best conference this year, just ahead of the Big East.

Give the devil their due, the MWC's best teams can beat the Pac-10's 3-10 without much difficulty.

Cheers,
Neil

The MWC is nearly as strong as the Pac Tin. Frankly, outside of the top teams in the Pac Tin, none of them could compete in any other BCS Conference...

I agree. We should not so easily forget what has happened to our 2nd place teams the last 2 times that we played the second or third place Pac 10 team in a bowl. We came out with 2 bad losses.

I'd put WVU (The BEast's 2nd place team) against ANYONE in the Pac Tin, even without Scooter Berry...

I love the Eers, but I think this year they would lose to Oregon, USC, and Stanford.

Cheers,
Neil

Neil, I keep telling you that thinking is a dangerous habit that only leads to trouble. Why do you persist in doubting? 03-banghead

RE: M ountain West puttin whippin on Pac 10
Between the Pac-10, MWC and even the WAC; its almost like playing conference foes. Familiarity breeds parity, and most of the schools out west only play each other. It's not so very odd for Pac-10 teams to play the same WAC team 3 times in a decade. Its a form of football "incest" and for the Pac-10, they're starting to get the weaker "genes" and their little brothers are getting the better ones with each passing year. For the Pac-10, they need new BCS "blood" in their schedules.

It's interesting that they have been pimping the MWC as a BCS conference, yet everyone is still defending the Big East's BCS bid. In fact, they are criticizing the MWC for the same reason we criticized them, lack of conference depth. It's basically a three-headed monster right now.

Oregon maybe, but I think Eers got a chance against the other 2. UCONN is very similar to Stanford in so many ways.

Stanford is without their QB at the moment. Luck is out for the bowl game...

I agree. I think the only real difference is that Stanford's passing game is a little more explosive.

I don't know if I agree with that. People don't know this, but UCONN has the 2nd passing offense this year in the BE after Cincy. Yeah I know it is hard to believe. Marcus Easley is BE's leading WR. As good as Stanford's RB is, I think UCONN's combo of Dixon and Todman is better.

BYU win over Oregon St is a good win. It was played in heavy wind and Oregon St did not adjust. Cal to me is pretty overrated this year. Cal lost quite a few WTF losses this year.

I take it you missed my last post...

Andrew Luck is the reason Stanford had such a prolific passing attack...

No I caught the post, I was just comparing UConn to Stanford, not the bowl game. You make a good point SF. One interesting thing about UConn and Stanford is that they both seemed to have caught fire at the end of the season, the only difference was that Stanford had luck in a few games and pulled them out, UConn lost a few games on sheer bad luck, or running out of time.

RE: M ountain West puttin whippin on Pac 10
UConn figured out the winning formula at the perfect time, just in time to boot the fat guy out of South Bend...

However, if you want to get technical, Stanford has had Luck all season. But they finally ran out of Luck, since he's sidelined... 04-cheers
