4 BEast schools in Director's Cup top 25
The football schools have 3 in the top 30; SU, WVU, and UConn...
It's 4 if you count Notre Dame. But I'll be d@mned if I will. Frankly, after this season, I'd tell 'em to sh!t or get off the pot. That would probably force the Irish into the Big Tin, solving our problems for a while, and give us the space we need to build something in the east...
But I seriously doubt that it will happen. It makes perfect sense, from a football perspective, which is why it won't happen. The basketball alliance will see to that... MSNsportsNET Wrote:West Virginia 25th in Director's Cup Standings

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - With six NCAA championships completed, West Virginia University stands in 25th place in the 2009-10 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings.
The Mountaineers have compiled 122.00 points so far this fall after women’s cross country finished sixth at nationals and women’s soccer advanced to the NCAA Second Round.
West Virginia was the fourth-highest BIG EAST school in the standings. Villanova (9th), Notre Dame (15th), Syracuse (20th), Connecticut (30th), Providence (31st) and St. John’s (40th) were the other BIG EAST schools ranked among the Top 50.
Virginia stands in first with 337.00 points, followed by North Carolina (283.00), Stanford (281.00), Princeton (230.50) and Maryland (227.00)
Two years ago, West Virginia finished with a school-best 30th place finish in the Directors’ Cup standings. Last year, WVU finished in 50th place.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 14 sports - seven women’s and seven men’s.

That's a nice start for the league. I suspect come June it will be as it has for the last few years, ND 1st among BE schools with UofL 2nd. We've had some nice finishes though early for Nova, Syracuse, and WVU.
