MACC vs CUSA Championship
Today's CUSA Championship matchup pits ECU and Houston on ESPN's Championship Saturday. In my mind it's a more attractive game than CMU and OU and receives better coverage.

Agree. The paltry attendance at MAC games hurts the image on TV. CUSA plays to larger more boisterous crowds which play well on TV. I also think CUSA plays better football.

By the way, CMU beat OU 20-10 last night for the MACC. Didn't even realize the game was on until I flipped to ESPN2 and it was early in the 4th quarter.

Thank God the MAC had the CMU fans on the far side of the field so it looked like a decent crowd there.

CUSA has way better attendance with crowds in the 30K range on a regular basis at many schools and some over 40K like at East Carolina.

The end zones looked empty.

RE: MACC vs CUSA Championship
I'll disagree, I thought what little I saw of it, the difference between the Houston ECU game and the Grand Valley-Carson Newman was negligible. I didn't even realize the Houston-ECU was for the CUSA Championship--I thought it was the last regular season game.

Ford Field is a big time venue, I thought ECU looked small time.

Hats off to CMU fans they showed up en masse to Ford Field yesterday. The Chips alone must of had >15,000 fans.

What we need is the MAC on a Saturday time slot.

I've been to ECU's 43,000 seat stadium and it is very nice, not like the sterile Ford Field.

Ford Field sterile? Are you thinking Silverdome? I have family in Raleigh so I'm familiar with ECU--as well as Wake, NCST, UNC and Duke.

I still think playing and winning at your home field cheapens the image of a league championship.

I knew ESPN didnt' care about the game during the opening when they said "It's the 'MAC Conference' Championship."

MAC Conference? Mid-American Conference Conference?01-wingedeagle
