I'm guessing he knows many of the Pittsburgh players and, nice guy that he is, they won't be looking to give him a hard time. I'm thinking a token rush, with no hard hitting. Pittsburgh's toast anyway and I think they'll want to help a homeboy out as much as possible. Defenders are likely to pull up rather than lay any big hits on Bruce. With the quality receivers available to him I predict a huge day for Bruce and the Raiders.

Quote:in two-plus games already has thrown for more than half as much yardage (546) as JaMarcus Russell (1,064) did in nine starts.

Quote:There’s been some speculation Oakland will put Russell, the top overall draft pick in 2007, back into the starting lineup at some point this season.

Bruce has got to prove that he can continue to get the ball to people. Last week seemed like a little bit of a dropoff. I'm sure that can be forgiven, but he's got to look like he can do his part and the drops are on the receivers. Otherwise they might just go back to Russell.
