Depends, as a PG if he had 15 assists and less than 3 turnovers than not scoring is okay. I highly doubt that happened though.
Didn't need his scoring- last game he took more shots than any other player I think.. Hard to say much about tonight -we were way too big. Had a nice inside-outside game between Anyijong and Dressler early and Freelove and Dressler later. Won't happen over MAC postmen much but it was good to see us looking inside first. Not many triples.
Albrecht can't shoot but he did make some forays to the hoop. Putting it on the floor and drawing soem fouls will open up the outside game agains for him. Last week he COULD shoot so I hope it comes back.
Dressler continues to improve- he and at times Salter need to get heads in game. Salter did use his size for a couple buckets including one twisting layup where he showed some of the athleticism some say he lacks. Still, he lost some balls and the guards were reluctant to throw it in to him when he was being guarded by a 6'4" guy. when their pretty decent 6'11" guy was on him they decided to throw it in and he rewarded them with a bucket, then got another against the little guy but he needs to work harder on offense. Justin looked like Justin again- LOTS of boards and Mo got a bundle of points in limited minutes.
Interesting thing worth noting- Jay Shunnar, a walk-on from last year, is getting significant minutes for a WO and throughout the game, not just garbage time. When UT wants to press to get back in a game he comes in-they must like his quickness. Cross's comments mirrored my take on the game. We have no idea how to play with a lead-sooooo many turnovers. albrecht had 10 assists and only 1 TO but our bigmen had the ball stripped over and over inside.
There was a brief MAlcom Griffin citing so a redshirt year seems unlikely. His hand was bandaged heavily and he only played a minute or so but our depth is shaky so he may be pushed into service where in other years he would not be.
Rochester had almost twice as many shots as UT-partly due to TOs and partly due to lots of fouls on their parts. Right now I think Jake Barnett is probably playing the best ball of anyone, especially on D. He seems pretty controlled at both ends. Thsi team is showing some improvement and I think we'll win another game. Maybe not this year but next year for sure, or the year after.
