Like to hear young guys giving props to the ones that helped them- he certainly isn't hogging the credit.

Now that the season's over it's good to hear directly from Eric.

I was thinking about those two plays too - I was guessing that the farm land cross winds were a huge factor in the muffed punt. The other was a mugging that took place in broad daylight. Was it five guys that stood him up with another one or two ripping at the ball?

Focus on the future Eric. It's going to be very bright!

Great article! Its nice to hear him take the blame for the bad parts and to focus on fixing those parts of his game however, his last fumble of the season is not on him as much as on the officials... I think they were being paid to try to end his football career. We are so lucky he didn't get injured on that play..... He did anything any coach could ask of him get extra yards then bring a second hand to protect the ball he had complete ball control but against that many defenders no amount of security can stop them...

Two words: Shaq Washington. Anyone not recruiting this kid is a moron that hasn't learned their lesson from Page's season.

Page stands up well for himself, quite the leader.

A little story on Washington and also some video:
Shaq Washington

Ransom looks like he can move, too.

Another video

Maple Heights plays Cincinnati Winton Woods in the Div II State Championship on Friday at 7:00 in Massilon.

Finally, a feel good story on Rocket Football!

As I was reading this, I thought "gosh this is the best piece Zach has written all season. I'm going to email him on a job well done" Actually, it was written by Hackenberg but both have been good friends of UT lately.

I saw Maple Heights play against St Francis in the playoffs. They were quite possibly the quickest HS football team I have ever seen play. Watching the game I couldn't help but hope that the Rockets were recruiting some of these kids, Shaq and Ransom on offense and Robertson on defense.

They may not be big, but they were very athletic. Every play they scored on was a big play. Robertson seemed to make every tackle on defense. Undersized, but had a great nose for the ball and was a sure tackler.

Washington's amazing . . . and he went from 5'7" on the TV piece to 5'9" on the scoutingohio.com video

Does the NCAA allow current players from going with coaches on recruiting trips? I could see Eric next to Shaq on his sofa selling UT.

Odd as it may sound, it's entirely possible. There was a kid in my class back in the day of the dinosaurs that went from 5'2" to 6 feet even in the summer between our junior and senior years.

I believe it- my hundred yard dash time in HS has dropped from 10.3 back then to 9.7 today.

Sure, but you've also gone from a stopwatch to a calendar

Do they stop the time if you need a break at the halfway point? In that case, i am good for a 6.5

RE: 'Too small' label pushed UT's Page to stellar season
FRIDAY RESULTS:

Div. II: Winton Woods 42 -- Maple Heights 12.
It was expected that Maple Heights would have their hands full with powerful Cinci Winton Woods. CWW has the 1st Team Div. II All State QB Dominique Brown. (Future Rocket EJ Tucker was 2nd Team.) Brown scored 4 times on runs of 58, 50, 17, and 1 yards. Shaq Washington finally found the endzone in the 4th quarter on a 5 yd run. Ransom scored in the 2nd quarter on a 3 yard run.

Div. III: Cardinal Mooney 35 -- Columbus St. Francis 7

Div. V: Youngstown Ursuline 55 -- Coldwater 25
(^ UT verbal Dwaylon Harper)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
SATURDAY RESULTS:

Div. IV: Archbishop Alter 35 -- Chagrin Falls 7

Div. VI: Norwalk St. Paul 24 -- Delphos St. John's 21
One heck of a game. St. Paul takes it away with a 98 yard drive that culminated with a TD with about 7 secs left to play.

Delphos has a couple kids named Berhfeld who can really run. Both had long returns. I think one returned one for a TD, the other kid returned one down to about the 5.

Div. I: Hilliard Davidson 16 -- Cleveland Glenville 15
Not as good a game as St. Paul/St. Johns, but it had its moments. Never did see James Gordon. Maybe they changed his # or he's hurt.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
INDIANA

Indiana Class 5A State Championship
Warren Central 42 -- Carmel 36 (2OT)
(^ UT verbal Elijah Jones)

My alma mater played glenville in the first round and if i remember correctly, james gordon is number 7?? anyway, he is an animal and had a pick 6 in the game. also, i heard that shane wynn, also from glenville, is very interested in us. he is a junior WR that is extremely fast. He is number 4 if you are watching the game tomorrow.

Page makes Phil Steele's first-team Freshman All-America squad. The article (the link is below) says which Rockets made Steele's All-MAC team as well.
