Lieberman is an a-hole
That is all I have to say at this point about his latest decision to filibuster with the righties. 05-mafia Guess all those insurance industry payoffs may work ifor them in the end. Hope you guys like paying $24,000/year for insurance coverage in 8 years.

RE: Lieberman is an a-hole
Did you really expect Lieberman to stand tall with the libs after they abandonned him during the last election? Your side shows no loyalty but yet demands it from a guy who's no longer in it.

RE: Lieberman is an a-hole
Quote:Lieberman did say he's "strongly inclined" to vote to proceed to the debate, but that he’ll ultimately vote to block a floor vote on the bill if it isn’t changed first.
"I've told Sen. Reid that if the bill stays as it is now I will vote against cloture,” he said.

“I can’t see a way in which I could vote for cloture on any bill that contained a creation of a government-operated-run insurance company,” Lieberman added. “It’s just asking for trouble – in the end, the taxpayers are going to pay and probably all people will have health insurance are going to see their premiums go up because there’s going to be cost shifting as there has been for Medicare and Medicaid.”

Lieberman said he “very much” wants to vote for health care reform but that he’s worried about stifling “the economic recovery we’re in” or adding to the federal debt.

DING-DONG the Public Option is DEAD!!!! 05-deadhorse Will this KILL Healthcare reform once and for all? I suspect any bill with a public option will have 40 Republicans in oposition, Liberman, and any democrat up for reelection in 2010 (Blanche Lincoln). Thank you Senator Liberman for being politically courageous and taking a stand against tyranny.

With the number of Insurance Companies based in Connecticut would you really expect him to vote for a Public Option?

With the number of liberals living in Connecticut would you really expect him not to?

Politically courageous? That isn't being politically courageous. His friggin' state is the insurance capital! That is why he is against it. If CT loses insurance and if there are some cutbacks in military spending on ships, his state is ******. Also of note, Phizer has a large complex in CT as well.

Sounds to me like he's representing the people of his state.

You have a problem with that, Mao?

Doesn't Biden always vote to de-fund Amtrak? The Kennedy's argue for windmills off their coast? Pelosi promises to move Hollywood to Detroit? Franken push for filling in lakes? Obama battles to end Chicago politics?
