Do you believe that $hit? She is on our payroll and one of her favorite philosophers of all time is MAO? 60-70 million slaughtered and that is one of her favs. You talk about RADICAL. Obama is a surrounded by RADICALS because he is one of them. He would bury your ass if it got him brownie points with the Euro socialists. He has already sacrificed Poland and the Czechs. TURD.
"Chairman Mao and Mother Theresa - two people not often coupled together" ... but perhaps they should be. Anyone with a couple of hours to kill could be entertained by researching what Christopher Hitchens would have to say about the question "which one is more evil". sigh.

Maybe the reason she is on our payroll is that they couldn't get him--since he's been dead for a few years.
she didn't say she likes Mao, she just said he's an important person in the fields of tenacity and fighting for something you believe in. It's like when people say hitler was incredibly bright. They aren't saying they like what he did, they're just saying that he was a smart man.

She said they were the two that she turns to most.
Your rationalizing isn't convincing. His cabinet is filled with radicals who follow Che, Chavez, Castro, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao.
BTW, I have heard not one person say they turn to Hitler for rationalization and inspiration.

The quote was, "my favorite political philosophers". Lets not stretch the silliness in her behalf. She said what she said.
BTW, who views Mother Theresa as a political philosopher? That alone gets you flunked out of Comprehension 101. If the Mao statement wasn't bad enough, the Mother Theresa statement communicates her complete ignorance.
i still see nothing wrong with what she said. Mao was brilliant. his revolution was great. Terrible, but great.

still don't see the big deal. and who cares about the rest of his cabinet? is she guilty by association? Just because the man committed unspeakable acts of evil doesn't mean there's nothing that can be learned from him. And i never said people turn to hitler for rationalization and inspiration. I just said that people often refer to him as very bright, which is true.

That's simply wrong. She did not say that he's an important person in the fields of tenacity and fighting for something you believe in. She said that he's one of her two favorite philosophers.
Maybe you can lie to people who don't have the actual quote. But that's not the case here. We have the video. It's linked to this thread. We can tell for ourselves that you're misrepresenting the facts.

but she didn't end with that. she didn't say "they're 2 of my favorite philosophers" and stop there. Why don't you listen to the rest of it and read between the lines.

Ahh, to be young and dumb.
spare me your insults. Just because your hate blinds you, doesn't mean it has to blind me as well. You think that as soon as someone says something complimentary about someone like Mao, they're immediately a radical individual. She was basically saying that the man had some very important musings.

Are you f'n kidding me? Again, young and dumb.
Ask the Tibetans how they feel about Mao. ....the ones left.

I did listen to the rest, or at least as much of the rest as is included in the video. Maybe the video is not an accurate representation of the entire speech, although it's difficult to imagine how to put what was said in the video into a context where the words should be interpreted in some manner other than their plain English meaning. Absent that possibility, your interpretation is in your imagination, not between the lines.
There's only so far you can spin something, and putting the meaning you express on what was said in the video goes beyond that limit. I guess if you drink enough kool-aid you can believe that up is down and down is up, but I choose not to go there.

wow. she doesn't respect what the man did! She respects how the man went about making personal choices, sticking to his convictions and subsequently doing what he believed was right. Was it right? hell no, but the way he stuck to what he thought was right, was reminiscent of what many good people have done.
oh, and as a Jew maybe you should ask me how i feel about Hitler? Do I like him? of course not. Do I respect his methods? of course not. But do i respect his tenacity and planning? Of course. I can't help but admire that. Just because someone did something incredibly evil, doesn't mean there isn't a lot we can learn from it.
I disagree with obama on everything he does, but does that mean there isn't anything we can learn from the guy? of course not. it would be foolish to think that way. If i had to pick 4 leaders that I'd like to sit down and really study, i'd pick hitler, churchill, james madison and lincoln. Obviously there's others, but those are the first ones i think of.
I'm not gonna resort to name calling. i guess i'm just young and above that.

exactly what kool aid am i drinking? are you insinuating that i'm a fan of Obama? If so, you couldn't be more wrong.

I didn't think you were, and I was very surprised to read your post coming from you. I think you must be drinking something to hear the video and give it the interpretation you did. I just can't get there on this one.
I'm no fan of Obama either, but I try to be as objective as possible. I simply don't see how an objective interpretation of the video can lead to the conclusions you reached.
