Snowe and Collins both need to be tossed from the Republican Party.
First Snowe, now Collins. From now on I will call them the "RINO Queens". They also both voted for the Stimulus Plan. :muttering:

WASHINGTON – A second Republican senator signaled Wednesday she's open to voting for sweeping health care legislation this year, putting President Barack Obama closer to a historic achievement that has eluded generations of Democratic leaders.

But Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, told The Associated Press that the bill approved Tuesday by the Finance Committee needs substantial improvements to make coverage more affordable, contain costs, and protect Medicare. Nevertheless, she joined her Maine GOP colleague Sen. Olympia Snowe in endorsing the goal of far-reaching changes.

"My hope is we that can fix the flaws in the bill and come together with a truly bipartisan bill that could garner widespread support," Collins said in an interview. "I think this bill is far superior to the ones passed by the Senate (health) committee and the three House committees, but it needs substantial additional work."

Actually, Conservatives with a brain should leave the Republican Party to those like Snowe, McCain, etc. It's time for a viable truly conservative party.

Political pressures, Maine is a deep Blue state, the voters want this crap and its something the Dems could use against them to take those seats(and with it more Democrat votes on the whole in the Senate).

I have little doubt if either were elected in a purple or Red state instead as an "R", they positions would be against this.

Snowe is getting all sorts of love in Maine right now. I have to give her credit for voting the way that it appears the majority in her state wanted. I don't agree with it her vote, but if she did what her constituents wanted then bravo!

By the way, her constituents are evidently idiots.

Party loyalties aside, do parties have the right to restrict who can assosciate with them? Freedom association means you can associate with anyone but not that they will with you? For example, Gov. Sanford in SC. After his whole thing, should/can the chair of the RNC expel him from the Party for failure to meet and maintain expectations (i.e. fidelity) for members? Or Charlie Rangel and his whole corruption schemes by the DNC? I mean, if you did something like that in the business world or as a member of a club they would fire you and kick your ass out. I see this as a way to ensure the protection of the Party name from those who tarnish it. But I also see the danger that it could potentially prove troublesome for those who don't necessarily "toe the party line."

Thoughts or actually analysis?
