It really does make sense the way it was set up. Those that have skin in the game should be the one's making decisions.

Unfortunately there are lots and lots of those morons as we learned in November 2008.

This just shows that people can be bought. Party affiliation means nothing to those who go to the highest bidder. Unfortunately, its not campaign contributions being used to buy votes, but rather the top 1% personal income.
