Methinks Swiss demographics make this an irrelevant comparison to the United States. My expectation is that crime statistics in Switzerland and Japan would compare favorably (skewed somewhat by the Yakuza) even in the face of polar opposite gun laws. Neither has any substantial bearing on US Policy - I just don't see universal conscription (mandatory automatic weapons in every home) leading to a good result here.

Do you know of anyone that has access to Hand Grenades? Same thing. These are War Zone weapons. These weapons are controlled. I don't see anyone at schools with hand grenades or on the street with an AA-12.

Outside of the Muslim convert nut job that brought one to the madrassa down the street from our house and has since spent her time goading the FBI by standing on her car at the end of the runways of local airports, no. But Swiss law mandates that (virtually) all adult males be ready to serve at the nation's defense and have automatic weapons in their homes. So, I'm not sure what your question was about...

Something like this might come in handy if there is wholesale "economic dislocation" caused by social upheaval and accompanied by failure of the political system. In other words, the future as promised by the Obama Administration.

20 round drum magazine shooting magnum shells packs some firepower and it has minimal recoil.

It funny you should say that because I was talking to two friends this morning who are heavily into guns and they say the ammo dealers can't keep the ammo on the shelves because it sells faster than they can get it. The reason: The government taking over every aspect of society and the revolt it will cause.
