I don't usually buy blogs, but this seems pretty good. I don't like the option of giving him a choice to either finish out the year. If you mess up on the job your out and you don't get to finish the year.

Jon Gruden? Really? The guy that couldn't develop young talent? He is not a college guy at all.

It looks like UofL fans would like to draw a big name. Gruden, Tuberville, Bobby, Terry, or Tommy Bowden, and others will probably make the list. With their stadium addition, they will need to fill the seats in some shape or form.

bobby bowden coaching l'ville??? now that would be funny...maybe the cards could hire bobby as coach and than either terry or tommy as coach in waiting but your talking about an 80 year old i think afte, guess bobby bowden could run it for 3 years max than turn it over to his kid...the safe move would be tuberville but i would offer jim harbaugh a big deal to leave his pacific cardinal...gruden should coach the redskins.

Word is TJ told team this morning that Krags is out, his option to leave after this next game or ride it out the rest of the year. Trent Guy has a twitter message insinuating this messae.

I mean no offense to you dgrace, but that rumor makes no logical sense. Why would TJ tell the team "Hey, your coach is fired but he is going to be in charge of you guys the rest of the year." If people thought the team had discipline issues and a penchant for quitting early in games, wait till they see how the players knowing for certain that the coach is done. The players might have found out but I seriously doubt TJ walked in and told them unless Krags is quitting this week.

If you fire a coach, fire the man and move on. A lame duck situation helps nobody. Not the school. Not the team. Not the individual players themselves. It's bad for everyone. If you're going to do surgery, don't stop halfway through the operation. That's a good way to kill any chance for the patient...

O7 is right. Does anyone else remember the bowl game when John L's leaving was announced while the team was playing. The sidelines were chaotic. I can't believe Tom would want a repeat of that.

OTH I know Jurich is very fond of Brent Guy. I have read that Brent may get the interm job with Kragthorpe does walk.

The next few days are going to be interesting.

Syracuse fired GRob before the Notre Dame game and we all know what happened. If he has one or two games left I don't have a problem...unless he was fired for bad ethics. Halfway through the season...yeah he should probably go.

This is a question for Louisville fans. Kragthorpe does not have a terrible record, 2007 he was 6-6, 2008 he was 5-7 and 2009 he is 1-3.
Is there no hope that he will be able to turn things around, as you will be on the hook for $1.1 million for this year, 2010 and 2011.
I guess my perspective is that at Syracuse, these records are a bit worse than we were doing under Paul Pasqualoni but when we hired Greg Robinson, all hell broke loose and we ended up with a 10-37 record (and only 3 wins in the Big East - 2 against Kragthorpe led Cardinals).
No one ever thinks this is going to happen to you but you could do a lot worse than Kragthorpe. You really need to be careful with this next hire because it could be a disaster and you will not be able to get rid of him for 3-4 years if you make a mistake. I am not saying you should not fire Kragthorpe but the administration had better think this through and be careful who they hire as they only need to look at Syracuse to see what could happen if they make a bad decision.

It's a moot point now. Coach Krag has accepted the positon as Asst. Team Chaplain. Jurich is in Florida as we speak signing Urban Meyer to a long term contract worth reportedly a whoping 7 million dollar a year contract. They have restructed the stadium expansion to 80,000 rather than 55,000. A house will be built to Coach's specifications at any cost on the property of Valhalla Golf Course. It's a done deal.

None taken, I got carried away with this insight....Still waiting for official announcement...very soon though, very soon.

RE: The End is Near per Louisville Sports Buzz
Read the statement, says nothing about Krags not being fired, nor not being let go anytime after next week. Its still up to him to resign after next weeks game. A press conference can be called fairly quickly and it has to start from Krags saying lets go ahead with this.....so as of the time of that statement Klein had not heard from Krags on a press conference time and date. So in the end Klein said all true things and framed it as a good SID should....but he did not deny firing/resignation, or the fact that the two "camps" (lawyers) met on Monday.

As I stated in another thread...

Sporting News Today reported Kragthorpe as saying "I've tried real hard to defend this program. As you might imagine, it's getting increasingly difficult to do so."

Those are some ominous sounding words...
