Holliday's error sucked but if it weren't for him, the Cards probably aren't in the playoffs. He'll be back and the Cards will dominate the NL Central like they did from 2000-2005.

Will he be back? I thought they (writers) were saying they wouldn't resign him. He did ignite their team when he came over. But the way the rest of the division was playing, they probably would have won anyway. They had great starting pitching. I thought they were going to do better in the playoffs.

I'd put it at 70% he comes back

i'm saying 50-50 maybe even a little lower after reading comments today. He's meeting with Bill DeWitt Jr. today, so we might know something soon. If he doesn't come back I think Jose Oquendo will be the next manager of the Cardinals.

I'll take LaRussa and Dave Duncan over Sweet Lou and Larry "Can't Be Fired" Rothschild in a second in that Cubs dugout.

Save your hard earned money --- unless you are wagering FOR NY to take next two playoffs in six or less games....Go Yanks....all others are irrelevant in 2009....over time , the cream and money always rises to the top...book it.

You're talking about La Russa.. I'm talking about Matt Holliday.

As for La Russa.. I'd put it at 50-50 also. I love him as a coach, not so much as a person. I'd be more than happy with Oquendo running the show. Win win either way in my book

Oh, my bad, yea I like Hollidays chances of coming back, i'd agree with you on the 70%. The only thing that stops me from going higher is the fact that his agent is Scott Boras.

Well Tony is back, but the surprising news is that Mark McGwire is now going to be the hitting coach.

RE: MLB Playoff Predictions
Well it's the defending Champions vs the Evil Empire. MLB got 4 compelling teams into the LCS and a World Series matchup that should draw great ratings although I wanted at least 1LA team to make it to the WS. Yankees have the better lineup, Phils have the better pitching.

I half-heartedly picked the Phillies in my mealy-mouthed post, but had them beating the Angels.

I am picking the Yankees to get their butts kicked in the WS.

And I mean it this time!
