Here's some very interesting news on the recruiting front... Matt Elam (ranked #10 by scout and #13 by rivals), once a solid Florida verbal, is now the epitome of a "soft verbal"...

He had a good following promoting him for the job when they were still considering who to hire. I thought he'd be a good choice myself, although my input counts for zilch. But in the end, they gave the job to Stew, and he's 14-5 so far. I know a lot of schools that would've loved to have played so well over the same period of time...

I must say this about Bill Stewart.

He is one of the classiest and respectable guys in college football.

You couldn't ask for a nicer guy. That's for sure...

I think recruits pick up on that too...

No doubt, Doc's a great recruiter, but I'm sure Stew's warm personality has a lot to do with it.

That's the dilemma... If I were a WVU fan, I'd be going nuts at their inconsistent play, but they have enough talent on the field to typically overcome that.

Coach Stewart is probably a little more shrewed than folks give him credit. He is a class guy, no doubt. His only problem is the way he makes his offensive players put grease on their hands before they go onto the field.
