Interesting excerpt from Baucus bill
Nice excerpt from Baucus bill (which BTW is too "hard" to put on line).
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009...-by-proxy/
Quote: "Beginning in 2015, payment would be reduced by five percent if an aggregation of the physician's resource use is at or above the 90th percentile of national utilization." Translated into plain English, it means that in any year in which a particular doctor's average per-patient Medicare costs are in the top 10 percent in the nation, the feds will cut the doctor's payments by 5 percent. "
In other words, the gov't way to lower prices is penalize anybody in the top 10%. Doesn't matter how you got there. Doesn't matter if it's 2020 and EVERYONE leaned prices...if you're in the top 10%, you're getting dinged.
That's Dem thinkin' for you.

RE: Interesting excerpt from Baucus bill
There are two ways to increase the equality of wealth. Make rich people poorer or make poor people richer.
Socialism/communism works on the principle of making rich people poorer.
Capitalism works on the principle of making poor people richer.
Socialism/communism doesn't work in practice because rich people don't like to become poorer and they figure out how to game the system.
End of the day, the rich always get richer.
The only variable is what happens to the poor.
And historically, they've done better in most any capitalist society than in most any socialist society.

It won't take but a couple of years until the doctors are paying the patients. That is if you can find a doctor still working.

.... That is how they will "Ration" health care services. The doctors will not want to be short changed (i.e. be in the top 10%) so they will only see so many grandmas. Obviously the supply of services to medicare recipients will contract. This provision will make harsh it on the elderly and the poor. The beauty of this for the Dems is their people are too ignorant to figure it out. They like our little Robert, just eat that $#it that is served up and tell themselves how good it is.

You beat me to it. I also wonder what kind of mind would even think of such a stupid concept.

Because they want to insert price controls.
Just another "noble" goal that meets up w/ a stupid application.
Competition and a well-informed consumer leads to price controls.
But in the end, people are going to get sick and eventually die.

I don't want to see the medical profession start competing with the education profession for who gets the bottom of graduating classes.
