That run up the gut for Pitt's 4th TD was icing the cake. I doubt the Cards can come back now - unless the Panter D drops dead on the field...

Yea even with a total meltdown, it looks like Pitt has this one.
I dont think UL watched enough film. Berry is vulnerable and the rest of the secondary is questionable. I would throw repeatable on Pitt.

It's too bad that Pitt did not (should have) won last week against NC State. The Panthers are a solid team, and will be a major factor in the Big East this year.

I'm not sold on your argument although I appreciate your words. UL has done nothing yet this year. Pitt has done nothing this year. Pitt has given up 500+ yards twice in 5 games.
The question is with this game is this (with apologies to UL fans):
1. Did Pitt find a way to fix the issues on defense?
or
2). Does UL suck on offense?
I'm not buying what is behind Pitt curtain #1 just yet... although I am happier than hell right now!

UofL sucks on offense. We are last in the conference in nearly every offense category. Pitt may be good, but don't take anything from this game against UofL.

RE: Pitt @ Loiusville
The Cards problem is they don't have a whole lot of good players. Depth is a big problem. At the end of the game they all looked gassed. Pitt did pretty much what they wanted once they got the big MO in the 3rd quarter...

I am not sold on Pitt's defense. I have bought it line, hook and sinker for many years now but I guess once you reach a certain age you want to see it first before you believe.
I am definitely encouraged with tonights performance and hopeful to see this D performance the rest of the year!

I agree that you really have some quality players. I wish Pitt hadn't let NCST come back last week, and I don't think Wanny has the coaching skill to lead his team to a conference title, but Pitt can be a player in who wins the league.

Nor a lot of good coaching. It's ashame how badly the UofL program has deteriorated.

Congrats to Pitt. Now that UCONN/Pitt game will be much more interesting. I hope ABC will pick the game up. Should be a good one. Just don't expect Lewis and Graham to run over the UCONN d like they did against the Ville tonight.
Ville needs to get moving and hire Gruden or Tuberville ASAP before other programs start to look for coaches.

RE: Pitt @ Loiusville
I thought the crowd was pretty good today given the team's terrible performance. Announced attendance was 39,948 and the actual was probably in the 37-38K range. The stadium was pretty much full for the first half, but emptied out late in the 3rd and 4th when Pitt's woke up on offense. I always stay until the end of the game by which time there was maybe 6-8K fans in the stands. Saw some bags and a few anti-krag posters as well.
As for the game, Louisville played at the level I expected. Same vanilla and predictable playcalling. Same fundamental mistakes on defense (biting hard of fakes, missing deep coverage assignments, CBs playing too far receivers in zone coverage, etc). Same poor line play on offense (allowing the pocket to collapse, failing to open running lanes, etc). Same undisciplined team (we had 98 yards in penalties, 101 yards rushing). Overall, it is the same poorly coached team that lost the last two games.
My impression of Pitt is that they have a solid D-line, a good RB/WR core. and a good QB. Pitt's secondary though (IMO) did not look good and I think that will be the Panther's biggest weakness.

Seems like TJ is instead intent on making Krapper his legacy, which is sad for them.

RE: Pitt @ Loiusville
The second half we saw Pitt play the way they are capable of playing. The defense was playing well, the offense was taking what Louisville was giving them, and special teams were solid. The first half Pitt was tight, maybe a hangover from the NC State game. Pitt's superior depth really seemed to wear Louisville down in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, we still have yet to see Pitt play a complete game. If this is the start of them playing to their potential, we might win this conference after all. If we continue to play half a game, I see at least 2 losses in conference.

Hats off to Pitt.
Even though was a loss it actually a win for UofL in the long run.
We are one more game closer to a new head coach.
Thank you Panthers for helping return UofL football to relevance.

Yes - let's downplay the Big East BCS conference wins.
What does the Big East have to do - schedule Ohio State, USC, Florida, and Texas nearly every OOC game and win them all? It's ridiculous.
That's almost what USC does, and you know how much shine ESPN gives them.

the talk was to add the ville to the beast before it was ransacked, a solid program for many years. then along comes crackthorpe and flucks it all up.
so sad how much damage a human being can inflict, the guy must be fired asap, the team has given up rumor has it.
