Plus, it is only common sense that New Orleans should have reasonable hurricane evacuation plans, since they are not unexpected. They shouldn't do nothing (like they did) and expect everyone else to bail out their incompetence.

Saw a picture today in our local newspaper of a Six Flags under water. So i guess this means that Georgia drought is officially over huh.

Robert, I'm sure you are disappointed that my palatial abode did not go under water. Creek came up to about 40 feet inside my "back yard." Another day and it would have been time to get out the sandbags

Most of the residential flooding in metro Atlanta occurred up on North side. It was the worst flooding in about 70 years.

And guess what.. I haven't heard one person scream for their FEMA Debit Card like those people brought to the Astrodome did back in 2005.

Six Flags Over Georgia has been remaned "Six Flags Under Water" The area of the Park that flooded was in the southern side, and is much lower than the rest of the place.

Sad part is that the wooden roller coaster, "The Great American Scream Machine" might have to be torn down since the flood undermined some support structures. There is another metal roller coaster next to it called the "Ninja" that has multiple loops and corkscrews. It had floodwater in its electrical substation.

The Ninja sucked anyways, at least from what I have been told by just about everyone I know who went on it. I didn't even bother the last time I was there. The lines were basically non-existent, which should tell you something.

When this happens in a foriegn country we immediately stop what we're doing and send help and money. Where are those countries when **** happens to us?

I WILL say this...

Should Obama limit the relief given to Georgia (and by that I mean access to cash and loans, but requiring repayment or return of other federal funds at some point) it would be a HUGE step in the right direction.

With Obama in office, it creates a unique (at least to this point) opportunity for a government official to do the right thing, especially in re "the poor", which has been incorrectly characterized as "black people"... because he can require repayment of some type (at least by the state, generally through taxes which ultimately comes from rich people, not poor people) without fear of being labeled as a racist.

It'd be a good opportunity... though I doubt he'll take it.

At some point, SOMEONE is going to have to say NO.
