HR1207 -- Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill
HR1207 has been called to the House Financial Services Committee for hearings on Friday, with some 290+ co-sponsors. There are so many co-sponsors, that if the rules are suspended it automatically passes without debate.

this is refreshing. why should the government get a pass, when citizens get audited all the time? When it comes to economics, ron paul brings the kind of common sense approach that we all want but never get

RE: HR1207 -- Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill
the Federal Reserve isn't the Government, rather a group of private banks with shareholders. With a "Board of Governors" that are appointed by the POTUS. Part of its charter is to be Audted each year, this is more about making a stink about the Fed, which is always grassroots fodder when the economy sucks.

Absolutely no way the Federal Reserve is abolished, giving Monetary Policy making powers to Pelosi/Reid and company(though they'd probably like to have it). Which is the point of it. Congress and Liberal policies, on the Federal, State and Local levels did more than enough to cause the economic mess.

That was not part of the original charter, it was added as a concession in the 70's. Moreover, the list of things exempt from audit is thicker than Crime and Punishment.

There is no "Real Audit" since the brunt of all garnered audit info is private and hidden form any public scrutiny, how can you call what they do "An Audit" ????

This group of rich old farts is analogous to one of the Most Autonomous Entities on Earth and can be labeled in with such Mystic Organizations as the Bilderbergers and the Luminati

I mean I know that may be a wild statement, but what OTHER HIGH BROW organization gets away with the CRAP they get away with and are NEVER HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

I doubt you could get a Note Scribbled on a Piece of Federal Reserve Toilet Paper without 20 Acts of Congress, and Executive Order directly from the POTUS and a Supreme Court fight under the Freedom of Information Act.

We are being suckered like a bunch of tit sucking children and it is getting to be a piss off.

Open their books to the Public ...... ALL THEIR BOOKS and do it TODAY !!!!!!!

I agree..RP is not going to get the Fed abolished. I see NO problem however with more transparency in the auditing process. What do they have to hide? I agree with the stipulation that has been included to delay the information in order to not effect the market. Cudos to Dr. Paul for getting support for this. Now..Let's see if it gets sabotaged. I predict that those in power are NOT going to allow this to happen and are willing to "pay off" whoever they can in the form of future favors to get this thing KILLED. We will see.
