RE: Dear WKU fans
I hope no one takes my post to me Clint isn't a good coach.

But there is a world of difference taking on a program that is toward the bottom of its division in funding, tradition and other resources and a program that is toward the top in those items.

When Arkansas State was I-AA we made hay because there is a lot of I-AA talent in the region. Recruiting Texas and Louisiana is problematic but there is a wealth of I-AA talent in both. Arkansas has one other I-AA and its an HBCU, and Oklahoma has no I-AA schools. Murray St rose under Nutt because ASU had moved to I-A and Nutt recruited a bucket load of Arkansas I-AA kids and posted the only double digit win seasons in school history. There was a recruiting void and UCA stepped in to take advantage of it.

A coach can take over a great situation and lose (ask Notre Dame and Miami) but winning in a good situation doesn't always translate. That is why a school should look carefully at a guy like Conque because you aren't likely to be able to give him the advantages he has held.

Very true and it makes our fans sick bc that is our recruiting territory as well. 03-weeping No reason why Missouri State shouldnt be a top 25 team FCS team with Arkansas, Oklahoma talent not to mention the goldmine that is KC and St. Louis and the Kansas JUCOS.

To be a national powerhouse they have to go into Texas, but state of Oklahoma produces alot of talent for our level. Union and Jenks in Tulsa are two of the best HS programs in the country.
