Some would call that a misrepresentation, some a distortion. Of course some would even call it true.

I call it a LIE.
Not surprising. You think that anybody that is left of center that says anything, it is a lie.

SOAF,

You don't have to sing (I'm pretty sure the spelling on that is koom by ya), but you can be civil and have disagreements. I'm going to try my best to keep it that way from this end.

They've received millions of tax payer dollars and are eligible for, I believe, several billion more and they payed the "volunteers" who did voter registrations per person they signed, real or imagined. That all makes the above statement a lie.

Let me take this opportunity to beat a dead horse. What opened the door for Obama to give kickbacks to ACORN is the "Faith Based Initiative" created by President Bush, redubbed "Faith and Community Based Initiatives" by this President. It was a terrible idea then, and it's a terrible idea now, but made much easier by President Bush's precedent.

I don't agree with Federal funding for "Faith based initiatives" either, though like much of the federal govt. there is a demand for it there instead of on the local/church level where it should be, on a volunteer basis. i.e. the Traditional avenue

That said, they'd find a way to fund ACORN through multiple avenues, regardless.

This just in...ACORN is pondering suing Fox News for the stories so Mach is right somewhat. There's no way that it will happen though as ACORN would have to divulge all of the records.

I don't think it was a terrible idea...unless you're juxtaposing it against something like keep the Fed Gov't out of things and let people have their money.

Fact is, local based organizations have much more success than those run by bureaucrats in DC. Faith based organizations, like those run by Prison Fellowship Ministries, have had FAR more success than their secular counterparts. Yet, you still get the "American's for Separation of Church and State" suing them.

Sorry, but even atheists have to be pragmatists (in fact I'm not sure what other option they have) and if it works, then it works. If the gov't insists on funding something, I'd like it to be something of benefit. And, I'll bet you can even find where Acorn has done some good.

I'm all for peeling back the onion, I45, but if you really want to get to root causes, you'll have to go deeper. We need to talk about the utopianism that still pervades the belief system of the US. We need to talk about the demonstrable fact that people are NOT inherently good, but have a rather large capacity to do evil, and often act on it. We need to dig up many of those philosophical and theological that we buried b/c those were "personal" and shouldn't be part of the public discourse.

Shrub opened many doors to Obama.

It's not that hard to go from "big government conservative" to "big government liberal" to "big government socialist."

Particularly considering that the last two philosophies inherently require big government operations, while the first inherently doesn't.

Do what you want, I think civility is just another label for Political Correctness. I don't buy into it, manily because it is abused. A black man can use the word N!gger all day long but a white guy cannot, but the black are calling whites crackers without regard for anything. You think civility gets you something, I do not. I don't know if you've pulled your head out of the sand lately, (could of said a$$) but the Hippocricy is in full swing. Wilson got rebuked for calling the anointed one a liar, when the anointed one was calling everyone else a liar. And the liar ended up being the anointed one, Obama Lied, because there was nothing in the house bill to prevent illegals from collecting. They had to scramble to fulfill the anointed ones words after the fact. I could go on and on haw you guys would not give Bush a moments rest -- calling him everything imaginable -- where was that civility? No I think not, what about calling him Shrub, you a$$holes are doing it even today.

Fu(k you and your civility.

OK James and Hannah go to the ACORN Office in San Diego and meet a very friendly attorney that is willing to help smuggle the underage prostitutes across the Mexican border.

http://biggovernment.com/2009/09/17/acor...-diego-ca/

With 70 miles of stunning beaches and picture-perfect weather all year round, having fun during the summer in San Diego doesn’t require a lot of money.

The city combines old-fashioned Mexican charm with a modern edge. In a city where the sun is always shining, it’s the perfect place to get away for a bit of relaxation or stimulation.

If you’re looking for trendy boutique hotels, an exploding culinary scene, or visiting the local ACORN to get your underage prostitutes smuggled across the Mexican border, you’re in the right place.

I'm still waiting for the expose that says James and Hannah bought off these tools with $500,000 each so they would just act as stupid as possible. No-one could really create an activist organization that is this organically corrupt, right? Not outside of Sicily, anyways.
