Obama's Litany of Lies and Serial Dishonesty with the American People
A conservative media watchdog organization is demanding that the media reports Obama's "lies, distortions, and exaggerations" delivered in his speech on healthcare reform Wednesday night.

The Media Research Center says Obama will not stop committing what it calls "serial dishonesty with the American people until the media expose his false figures and bogus exaggerations for what they are: fraudulent scare tactics."

The group describes the president's Wednesday night speech about healthcare as "a litany of lies."

Rich Noyes, director of research at the MRC, says The Associated Press did do a fact check on his speech.

"[The AP story suggests] that he uttered 'a variety of over simplifications and omissions,'" says Noyes. "He talked about how he would not add a single dime to the deficit, when the studies are showing it would add about a trillion dollars to the deficit over the second year of the plan. He talked about not permitting any illegal immigrant to be covered, when in fact it was Democrats who voted down any attempt to verify immigration status."

"The list of things that he talked about [was] very misleading," the MRC spokesman concludes, "added to the arrogant veneer of him scolding anybody else for taking liberties with the truth as liars, as he did."

Noyes says Obama's speech was about as "audacious" as one could possibly get. He says while the AP did do its fact check, there has been little coverage from the mainstream media on Obama taking liberty with the facts during his speech. Until that happens, says MRC, it gives the president "a green light to lie and cry wolf about whatever he wants, whenever he wants -- and it will aid in the most radical government takeover ever attempted in America."

RE: Obama's Litany of Lies and Serial Dishonesty with the American People
Why would HealthCare Officials have to Scramble to Exclude Illegals, if like Obama said they were already Excluded-- Simple, He lied -- and to a Joint Session of Congress -- Wilson was right -- Obama is a Serial Liar.

Healthcare Officials Scramble to Exclude Illegals

Friday, September 11, 2009 1:16 PM

Senators closing in on a comprehensive health care bill have whittled away all but the most contentious issues and one of those loomed large Friday: coverage for illegal immigrants.

Negotiators on the Senate Finance Committee thought they'd already resolved the question. That was before Republican Rep. Joe Wilson's shout of "You lie!" as President Barack Obama said in a speech Wednesday that illegal immigrants wouldn't be covered under his health plan.

That led senators to revisit the issue to make sure they have provisions in place to enforce prohibitions against illegal residents getting federally subsidized coverage.

"What we are trying to prevent is anyone who is here illegally from getting any federal benefit," said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., a member of the so-called Gang of Six of three Democratic and three Republican members of the Finance Committee. The group is facing a deadline early next week to produce a bipartisan deal.

If they don't succeed, Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., plans to go it alone with a Democratic bill.

The outcome remains very much in doubt. A successful effort could form the basis for legislation that could appeal to a majority in the Senate since the Finance Committee has a moderate makeup that resembles the Senate as a whole.

This weekend will be critical as aides and lawmakers themselves hammer out language not just on illegal immigration, but also a handful of other thorny issues including abortion, medical malpractice and how much states must pay for an expansion of Medicaid.

The deal-or-no-deal question could be answered as early as Monday when the group meets again.

"Obviously we'll find out who wants to support the (bill) and who doesn't," Baucus said Friday. "I'm hopeful that there will be bipartisan support. And I'll keep working on it frankly over the weekend, on the telephone talking to people, so on and so forth."

Baucus' plan largely mirrors what Obama laid out in his speech Wednesday: expansion of coverage to most of the nearly 50 million uninsured, new requirements for individuals to obtain insurance, new prohibitions against insurance company practices like denying coverage based on personal health history and creation of a new marketplace called an exchange where consumers could shop for different health plans.

If Congress ends up creating a new government-run insurance plan it would be offered through the exchange, but unlike the four partisan bills that have emerged from committees in the House and Senate so far, Baucus' bill will substitute nonprofit co-ops for the public plan.

The White House says that Obama does not want illegal immigrants to be able to buy insurance through the new purchasing exchange as they would be allowed to do under Democratic legislation in the House. Spokesman Robert Gibbs said the White House will work with lawmakers on language to enforce that.

"Illegal immigrants would not be allowed to access the exchange that is set up," Gibbs said Friday. Verification requirements are "something we'd work out with Congress," he said.

The illegal immigrant controversy that led to the outburst from South Carolina's Wilson stems from Republicans' contention that illegal immigrants would be able to get federally funded health coverage under the House health bill — even though the bill expressly prohibits federal subsidies for illegals.

Critics note that there are no enforcement mechanisms, or language on how to verify whether or not someone is in this country legally.

"Without a verification requirement it's essentially like posting a 55-mph speed limit and not having any highway patrol on the road," said Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

Democrats in two House committees defeated amendments that would have required verification of legal status. Many Democrats contend that such measures create barriers to legal residents getting the health coverage they need.

Verification provisions added to Medicaid several years ago require people to provide documentation of citizenship and identity, said Jennifer Tolbert, a policy analyst at the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation.

She said states found that the new requirements mainly caused delays or denials for people who were entitled to be part of the program.

There are some 7 million illegal immigrants in this country who lack health insurance, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

Unlike in the House bill or legislation passed by the Senate's health committee, the Finance Committee is aiming to include verification requirements. Anyone who tries to get subsidized coverage through a new health insurance exchange would have to provide valid Social Security numbers. Aides are working through the weekend to complete how that requirement would be implemented.

It was unclear Friday whether the Finance Committee bill would end up prohibiting illegal immigrants from shopping in the exchange at all, as the White House wants.

You can't drop a marble from a U-2 without hitting a looter, either one that loots, or one that accepts loot. The entire city is a f'n cesspool. Baltimo isn't that much better. The waterfront is nice, from what I hear, but 2 streets over and you get ganked. I always went to the outskirts when I had to go there and never once had the gumption to go.

.

Father Barack makes Bill Clinton look like Little Red Riding Hood as far as being able to out lie the most able liar on the planet.

Dead Man's Hand on Clinton's Head on every Draw from the Deck.

I guess all those "Activist Organizing Days at ACORN-hole" taught Father Barack at least one exceptional gift, and that is the Gift of the Bald Face LIE.

Quote:Obama Used Faulty Anecdote (he lied) in Speech to Congress

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama, seeking to make a case for health-insurance regulation, told a poignant story to a joint session of Congress last week. An Illinois man getting chemotherapy was dropped from his insurance plan when his insurer discovered an unreported gallstone the patient hadn't known about.

"They delayed his treatment, and he died because of it," the president said in the nationally televised address.

In fact, the man, Otto S. Raddatz, didn't die because the insurance company rescinded his coverage once he became ill, an act known as recission. The efforts of his sister and the office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan got Mr. Raddatz's policy reinstated within three weeks of his April 2005 rescission and secured a life-extending stem-cell transplant for him. Mr. Raddatz died this year, nearly four years after the insurance showdown.

Obama aides say the president got the essence of the story correct. Mr. Raddatz was dropped from his insurance plan weeks before a scheduled stem-cell transplant.

In a letter, Babs Waldman, medical director of the Illinois attorney general's office, excoriated the insurer, Fortis Health, which is now Assurant Health. Mr. Raddatz "suddenly faces not only life-threatening illness but now the inability to afford the only treatment that may help him," Dr. Waldman wrote to the insurer May 3, 2005.

Peter Duckler, a spokesman for Assurant Health, said the company "can never comment on an insured's coverage due to confidentiality issues."

The patient's sister, Peggy M. Raddatz, testified before the House Energy and Commerce oversight subcommittee June 16 that her brother ultimately received treatment that "extended his life approximately three years." Nowhere in the hearing did she say her brother died because of the delay. Ms. Raddatz didn't return calls seeking comment.

Obama speech writers appear to have been informed by erroneous media reports, including an article on Slate.com that stated, "The delay in treatment eliminated Raddatz's chances of recovery, and he died." Its author, Timothy Noah, said Wednesday that he wasn't contacted by the White House and didn't realize Mr. Raddatz hadn't died because of the treatment delay.

Another story that Mr. Obama used from the same House investigation squares with the testimony of Robin Beaton, who said she was dropped by her insurer days before a scheduled double mastectomy. By the time her insurance was reinstated, in part because of the intervention of Rep. Joe Barton (R., Tex.), her tumor had tripled in size. The president understated that in his address, saying it had more than doubled in size.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D., Ill.), a member of the House subcommittee that investigated the Raddatz case, said there may have been insufficient vetting of Mr. Raddatz's story by the president's aides. But, she added, "To focus on that is kind of a 'gotcha.'"

I think it is more to the 'Term Definition' of "Venting" rather than Vetting.

These Radical Asshats come in and interview or are already big daddy pals with Father Barack and they Vent a little Radical Sumpin-Sumpin and they got the job.

In fact, the more Leftist Loony you are at one of these Czar Initiations insures you a Position Post Haste in the Hall of the Father.
