There was a lot of damage from Ike to Houston, but the Infrastructure was not that badly damaged. The power lines were the worst. The powers that be, were told to harden the Grid in the years leading up to Ike. But just like New Orleans it was dismissed as too expensive. However unlike New Orleans, the Houston ratepayer will be paying back Centerpoint for the $200 million cluster**** restoration. They brought in thousands of people from all over the country to sit around and wait for the repair material to arrive. On Overtime and Full Expenses. Allison a few years back did more damage to the Infrastructure. It went straight thru downtown and stagnated there. Lots of flooding. The Medical Center's Generators rooms were all underwater. Clear Lake, Galvestion and High Island are still recovering and rebuilding. BTW, Allstate, State Farm and Farmers are still holding up claims for roof damage. People are have to fight them tooth and nail to collect.

Probably b/c you're getting snippets of this info

Which has its encouraging pieces, but there may be some flaws when you look more closely.

Are you still in the CG? If not, and you live in Charlotte, I'd love to! 04-cheers

I'm two hours away.

Yeah I am still in for a year or so, depending on whether or not i get into CC school, attached to a USMC or Navy unit, or getting into OCS. I am actually in Ft. Myers.
