attendance for Army
I attended last night's game vs Army and brought my son, a clinet and two of his kids. Biggest acrowd I've ever seen at an Eastern Game. Admittedly, as a Toledo fan, I haven't attended many, but still I FELT THE CROWD WAS MUCH LARGER THAN THE 14,400 SHOWN IN THE BOX SCORE. West side was entirely full, and Army side was probably a third or more. Considering Rynearson holds 30,000, I estimated at least 21,000 IN ACTUAL ATTENDANCE.
Where did they get those numbers??
Just wanted to give you guys props for for having a great crowd last night, given the grief you often get for your attendance woes.
Here's to a successful season for both EMU and Toledo. I think with our two new coaches, we'll be moving in the right direction

Yeah it looked fuller than it has for along time, concession stands were backed up, Army brought a nice contingent of fans which was good to see. EMU is trying with the students and did an excellent job trying to get the frosh involved in the game.

each section holds around 1,000 people the east side was only 1/4 to 1/3 full at best that is around 3-5000 people. The West side looked pretty close to 3/4s full which is around 10,000

I think you're over estimating those numbers. While the crowd on the west side may have been spread over 3/4 of the stands those people were not packed in. There were plenty of open seats in the middle of the crowd. Density.

I know the person who help design the seating area and I am pretty close. Also there where 100's of people waiting to get in when I was kicked out half way through the 2nd quarter.

I did a guessestimate also.
We estimated the east side at 2 - 2 1/2K. Tops.
We estimated the west side at 10K. Some sections (e.g., students) were very full. Some less full.
I'm going to guess 11,878 (+/- 10 butts).
