So what did we learn tonight?
Troy is NOT NEARLY as good as they thought they were.

and

UNT is NOT NEARLY as bad as we thought they were.

1-1 split against the MAC but not how I saw it coming.

RE: So what did we learn tonight?
It's still very early, but I think we all learned not to expect anything this season. Expect the unexpected. All those "predictions" and "projections" can be thrown out the window. They mean nothing. For all we know, UNT might be competing for the Sun Belt crown this season with the way they played tonight.

Troy has got to step it up... whether anyone here likes it or not, people are looking at you to be the "image" of our conference. Our BCS buster. Our "ambassador" to the other conferences. I don't see it that way, but a lot of people do. When people say Sun Belt football, they usually think Troy. And tonight's loss didn't help any of that. I hope you guys turn it around against UF, because I would like nothing more than for you guys to turn the college football world upside down. But you play like you did tonight and you won't be close...

It's a long season, only time will tell what these results will mean. But come December, the Sun Belt landscape could be a lot more different than anyone expected.

RE: So what did we learn tonight?
The Troy team came out during press conference and said they were gonna let the game play itself out before any big talk started, but there were some fans on here were stating this would be a possible BCS buster. I knew the BG game was going to be tough, especially with it being away and Troy not having the starting CB, LB, and FB for the game. I had a feeling the green Troy secondary was going to get slashed and it did. DuJuan Harris wasn't the running back he showed to be last year today for sure and Levi Brown was a bit scared to thread the needle unlike last year. Just one of those things. They might rebound and have an amazing year, they might pull an FAU and not meet the high expectations. Tiimmee cannn onllyyy telll.

I do know one thing. UNT is back and they are going to push for a title it looks.

I don't think Levi Brown was the problem.

RE: So what did we learn tonight?
Troy has three conference titles outright or shared without winning a road non-conference game. Since joining the conference Troy has won exactly ONE road non-conference game against FBS competition and that year they went bowling but finished two games out of first in the Sun Belt.

What did we learn about Troy and the conference race? Not a d@mn thing.

Confrence race yes I agree arkstfan,

But I REALLY didnt expect the D from UNT to play that well. Ball state was expected to have a drop off, but is that the reason for the loss or is it that UNT's D stood up.

From what I saw UNT's D did a great job last night. They bear watching.

RE: So what did we learn tonight?
I wasn't as surprised by North Texas' win as I was in the manner in which they dominated Letterman State. UNT could've beaten them by 40 if not for a couple of bone-headed mistakes.

The North Texican illEagles aren't an automatic win on any SBC schedule as of this morning.

I feel the same way. Man, why did we have to have a bye week at the BEGINNING of the season?!?!

BGSU is a top notch MAC program with probably the best record over the last decade in the conference. With numerous wins over BCS foes. The program and this team is simply better than Troy. A Lot better.

That doesn't mean Troy isn't still the best team in the SBC.

And as far as UNT's victory goes, when that is their only victory of the season, and Ball State has none, yesterday will be just a memory.
