My cabbie last night was an Atheist from the Kurdish area of Iran. It's a mistake to assume that all Iranians are Muslims, especially in the US because non-Muslims in Iran have a great incentive to leave, and are also able to apply to the UN as refugees. From what I have been told, Jews have more rights that most other non-Muslims in Iran (Bahai, Zoraostrian, Atheist, etc.). Given the rhetoric from the Islamic Republic, that tells you a lot about what "human rights" mean to Muslims (hint - they are not rights given to you because you are human, but only given because of the dogma that is taught to you).
