Domestic policy - People who work should live better than people who don't work.
Foreign policy - Treat your friends better than you treat your enemies.
Military policy - Never fight a war you don't intend to win.

I certainly don't think conservatives hate poor people. They hate for people to be poor, but they don't hate people who are poor.

If you're going to attribute such a characteristic to conservatives, then you need to attribute equally reprehensible--not just humorous--stereotypes to the other categories. You didn't.

On the issues I argue on this board? I'm a conservative. How I really am? It can't be defined by "liberal", "conservative", or "moderate". I'm not moderate on any issue. I'm either conservative, or libertarian/liberal. Look up "Classical Liberal". That's pretty much me.

They think I'm elitist, uncharitable and would destroy the planet in order to make a few bucks. The think I'm armed to the teeth and have every weapon made just short of a tactical nuke. They think I'm a white Christian. They think I'm a redneck from the South. They think I'm responsible for slavery, AIDS, the homeless and unemployed. They think my opposition to illegal aliens is racism at its worst. They think my opposition to gay marriage somehow robs gays of something they already have. They think my existence is warming the planet.

We are not that far apart....probably only foreign policy interventionism would be our sticking point.

I have always been an "unaffiliated" voter in NC...though I was a card carrying LP member for 19 years until they decided that BB was a Libertarian.

Not really. I'm pretty non-interventionist unless it's against someone who is f'ing with us. I would have stood with Clinton had he went into Iraq and kicked Saddam's ass after the first SAM was fired against our pilots patrolling the Northern and Southern No-Fly Zones.

Libertarian. Socially, if what you want to do does not harm anyone else, I will generally not have a problem with it. Fiscally I am a huge fan of the free market and low taxes. I think the budget should be balanced and that does not mean with loans. If the government comes in over budget, cuts should be made the next year, sucks, but that is how a budget works. I will not go into the state and local governments, but the federal government should be in place for national defense, interstate trade, and national infrastructure. I am a big fan of the 9th and 10th amendments.

I'm for freedom. In ALL aspects. I'm also not dumb enough to believe the government can "give me things". Just leave me the **** alone. In EVERY thing. You idiots work for me. You're bored? Thinking about writing yet another bill to justify your existence? **** YOU! Go play golf or go fishing offshore. You don't NEED to be in DC 24/7. I also supported that..but..I can not say I support some of the places we currently have our military stationed around the world. This is my sticking point. I'd much rather see them out of harms way and our defense department showing strength here at home..not abroad. It is my wish that we appear so dangerous to others that NO one would dare F with us.
