What a crappy weather week end
My son had a soccer tournament up in Blaine, Minnesota. This week end was one of the worst weather week ends for July. I froze my Arse off on Friday. It was windy about 58 for a high and raining at times. Saturday was not much better.

So much for global warming.05-stirthepot

please move to S&N, I screwed up again!!!

Not surrising since you obviously have no clue as to the difference between weather and climate. You should join the right wing whackos in the spin room. THey don't know the difference either(they admitted it).

you're right. a few weeks of below average temperatures completely disproves CLIMATE change.

A temp on a certain day = weather.

You should read the posts over in the spin room on the subject. I am not kidding when I say an anti-climate change guy who claims to be really informed on climate change/global warming had no clue as to the difference between CLIMATE and WEATHER. 03-banghead How the hell can someone say they are well informed and not know something as simple as that?

Btw, if I am not mistaken, much of the south is well above average in temp.

Chicago is in line to not have a day over 89 degrees in July for the first time since 1942. That is climate.

Actually the standard most scientist use for climate is 30 years. Not 30 days.

This whole year has been colder than normal. So eventually, this will cause the trend downward.

If they use 30 years how can ANYONE say the climate is getting warmer? The temperature has trended down since 2001 anyway.

Global Warming is a farce just like the concensus in the 70's was we were entering an ice age and there wasn't anything that could be done about it. See the Time mag article from the late 70's. Scientists predict things where the money for research goes.

Climate change and man-influenced climate change are two different issues. Climate change killed the dinosaurs. That wasn't man influenced. Question one: Are we going through a warming trend, ie climate change? Question two: Is it caused by the activities of humans?

I am just hoping this sub 80 degree weather lasts till after Lollapalooza so I don't fry like a piggy again this year. Treking up and down Grant Park in 95 degree heat when you are packing as much insulation as I do sucks bad.

RE: What a crappy weather week end
All these chicken littles have been crying about "Global Warming", now that the facts don't back their claims, it is "Climate Change". I agree, we need to do every reasonable thing to protect our environment but Cap and Trade will just cause the U.S. to lose more manufacturing jobs to other countries.

That reminded me of SOS Hillary Clinton's visit to India. She wanted them to follow our cap and trade policy and basically they told her to pound sand.

After this winter (oops, I mean summer, and I really did type "winter" accidentally), maybe they are right about the whole "ice age" thing! (And for those w/o a sense of humor, yes, I know, most of the U.S. is experiencing very hot weather this summer, but certainly not the Midwest.)
