Bios have been updated, and the new players added. Does not look like weights for the current players have been updated. I don't think they have their official weigh ins until they report for camp on 8/9.

I haven't had time to review throughly but two names I thought were gone surprised me: Cory Watman and Marcell Rose.

Both Rose and Watman are on the roster, and still active with the team...

EA, is it just me or was Jason Williams not on the last roster but back on this time?...Im liking some of the sizes of the DB`s (love those 6 ft+ DB`s)..some of the sizes look correct and some dont, I gotta believe a certain DT isnt 265 lbs. I see D Demaster is 310 lbs, saw and talked to him draft weekend, he looks great, very big, he told me he took up a certain OL workout regiment, hope it works for him. Tha oline should be solid. Look for good things from Davis............

Not sure regarding Williams...I guess I didn't notice that he wasn't on the last one. The D Lineman you mentioned is a lean 275 currently. That same D lineman has mentioned b4 that DeMaster is an absolute physical speciman...now if he can develop TJ's consistancy and tenacity I think we could be looking at another "Major League Prospect".

Regarding Davis. I have heard on several occasions that he has rare talent...he's a little undersized, but his talent very well could make him the best center in the MAC over the next 2 seasons.

I noticed the same thing regarding the size of some of the new DB's....some 6'2"s and 6'3"s and over 200 lbs. And some pretty good speed credentials as well including conference and state track championships. I'll bet a couple of the guys end up being linebackers before it's over.

The OL depth does look great. Its looks like we have 5 rbs including a walk on but Tyler Thomas could switch if necessary. Next year ie 2010 class we are going to need WRs.

A few more names that aren't here, Corey Brown a RB, Josh Williams a LB.


It be an interesting August in terms of some positions.

There was a 2009 class recruit Stephen Sewell number 50 I believe that participated in spring ball and I don't see his name on this roster. He was another LB/DL. Status?

Of these players, sounds like Thomas might have had the most upside. He is apparently very talented, but with so much depth at that position probably thought his playing time would be very limited (Priest, Blevins, Welch, etc...) Will be interesting to see how he does at Ferris.

Sorry to see Thomas go, he did have potential. But here's a question I see depth with Blevins, Priest and Welch but who comes after that? Scherrer might be very good but was hurt last year.

In fact with Thomas I think I counted the current roster at 90 players.

We better hope the team at some positions are injury free.

I am disappointed that Moffett and D Johnson are not coming to EMU. They both had potential to be impact players right out of the gate on defense.

What became of Darrell Davis-Budanauro? I had hoped he would become a major part of the OL one day. Great size. News? Anyone?

I don't where he landed but it appears he left prior to spring practice.
I heard he had problems keeping his weight under control. This was another guy who was highly rated by the recruiting services.

I never counted on him (like I never counted on Moffett).

I'd bet MSU backed off because of weight concerns, which now seems to have been a very insightful move on their part.

When players with big reputations fall to EMU the question becomes:

WHY?

At least with Moffett everyone knew there were academic issues.

DDB...been off the team for quite some time. Was never able to get his weight down and his mobility up. I don' think he was even able to get "down" in the 350's According to one player, however, he was an absolute immovable force (and legend) on the board drill....what a nightmare it would be to face him on that drill! (offensive lineman vs. defensive lineman, full speed bull rush scenario while straddling a plank to teach players to keep a wide base).

90 on the current roster would sound about right...I think they typically get 15 to 25 freshmen walk on's that report to camp as well.....

I think we discussed him on maybe another thread. He may not have made the academic requirements?

yeah, i don't recall anyone knowing the reason Kelip left. i just searched around for that thread and couldn't find it.

I assumed this was posted, but maybe not.
