Random NIU Clothing Tidbit
I know the selection of NIU clothing at stores around the chicagoland area is somewhat of a hot topic for members of these boards. I just relocated to the Milwaukee area and while shopping in a Dunham's sporting goods store, saw the following photo. Amongst a table of Wisconsin, Miami (FL), Michigan, Florida, and USC shirts/hats, was a good selection of NIU clothing. Just thought it was interesting to see a better selection of NIU apparel at a sporting good store in Wisconsin than anything I ever saw in the Chicago suburbs.

Love it, but is that ORANGE I see as the Huskie color?? It must be red, but it sure looks orange.

It is sad how little NIU stuff there is out there, even in DeKalb. Carson's on Rte. 23 has a nice selection of Illini stuff, but very little NIU. When I shop online, I drool (more than usual) at some of the things available for other schools. For the life of me, I do not understand why there is nothing that plays the Huskie fight song (bottle opener, pen, key chain) - one of the best college fight songs in the nation. It's available for lots of other schools.

I have some nice things (like a Huskie pen that lights up red), but I am ALWAYS looking for exciting new things. One of these years, I'll enter VCB, find a boatload of new items, and the probably keel over with a heart attack. If that happens, just make sure I get covered in a bright red Huskie blanket so people don't trip over me.

P.S. How do you like the Milwaukee area? One of my favorite cities. Did you relocate for a job?

The Under Armor store in the Fox Valley mall had a lot of NIU gear. In fact, they only had NIU and Iowa stuff when I was in there a couple of months ago.

That is red although it was definitely not the correct shade of red. The other shirt, which was perfect, makes it look really orange though.

I've been in Milwaukee (St. Francis technically) for one week now and it's been great so far. I moved up here because I'm going to graduate school at UWM. I have a condo on Lake Dr. that has views of Lake Michigan and is probably about 100 yards from the water. The condo is brand new with new appliances, included underground parking, great 24 hour workout area, movie theater, pool, hot tubs etc. Along the lake is a 100 mile paved path which is great for biking/walking/running. Oh and it costs me the exact same as what I was paying to live in St. Charles last year. Ridiculous.

So far so good...although I don't think I'm going to enjoy the winters very much.
