Victor Davis Hanson, using his classical smarts, absolutely devastates the pseudo-cosmopolitan leftist degenerates who are ruining our world.

What is Wisdom? Palin and her critics...

must read it all, well rounded mind that Hanson has.

Bravo. What a great column. I have to laugh at the "educated" who mock those who are able to succeed in the world constructed from material, rather than simply the world of words, such as academia or publishing.

Many on here were willing to offer that Obama was so smart that the rest of us should hush and accept our role as underlings. Speaking for yourself, that may be true, but we're not all in that caste.

On a related note,
I spent the last 3 days in Arkansas. Sat around one afternoon listening to a bunch of good ol' boys discuss. A couple of things I noticed:

1. Mustaches are still popular in Ark.

2. Race relations are fine in Ark. Can't say everybody loves everyone else, but they work together in a dangerous environment and they get the job done, safely. Didn't hear a lot of bickering about discrimination or affirmative action. That sort of strife only leads to problems, and in their industry, those can be deadly.

3. A few went to college, most didn't But all of these folks were smarter than Robert.

That would include most of the animal kingdom.

2. Bull ****.
3. Wow. What a shock. Most of those in Arkansas don't have a college degree. THat is probably why the state is poor(would be worse if Wally's World headquarters wasn't located there). Oh, I seriously doubt uneducated old rednecks are smarter than me(including you).

don't like your savior being criticized huh?
Could you raise cattle, manage a farm and help provide city slickers such as yourself food to eat so you are able to live the City life, while looking down on others in such Judgements of contempt?

Quote:"The answer give to this dilemma goes back at least to Socrates. If man is basically good, then he must do evil things because of ignorance. Therefore the savior for ignorant man must be education. The antidote to ignorance is teaching. But the contrast of Socratic thinking to the Christian faith is striking. In Christian teaching, man is a sinner and rebel, and he must be saved by Jesus Christ. In the humanistic faith, man does evil because he is untaught, and if he were taught more effectively, or with better-funded programs, or more progressive curricula, then the great savior -- education -- would straighten out all his internal kinks"
The Case for Classical Christian Education, p. 45.

Most people in any state don't have college degrees, you dolt. It's why they're cherished.

a.) The fact that reality doesn't match your world view is no surprise to me...nor is it my problem.

b.) I never said anything about anyone being "uneducated." Taking notes in a classroom at a 4th rate university is no requisite for education.

c.) It's "smarter than I"

Isn't it a little late to be selling Palin as the pulled herself up by her bootstraps, everywoman, who is just like everyone else in America bit? It didn't work during election, so why bring it up now?

It was a nice attempt to paint Palin as a commoner who was railroaded by the high minded over educated elite of the left, but the fact is that she was not ready for prime time plain and simple.

Did you know Palin could see Obama from Alaska when he was in Russia?

You know something Wise Ass ...

On a Beautiful Clear Day, I can be sitting at the North End Toll Booth of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and look across the lake for 35 Miles and see the Superdome as plain as the hood on my car.

Can see every building and bridge as well.

Why on Earth do you not believe it possible to see Russian owned land from one of the Tallest Mountains on the Planet that sits in Alaska under the same kind of Clear Weather Conditions ???

Do you realize how close 90 Miles is across water from one land mass to another and if you are standing on a Tall Assed Mountain, what would stop you from seeing that Land Mass just 90 Miles Away if the Weather Conditions were right ???

Have you Never Flew in an Airplane or Helicopter before ????

I mean I have never been on an Alaskan Mountain so I don't know this for sure, yet if I can see the Superdome in New Orleans from over 35 Miles Away across water, then hey ...... HUH ????

Anyone with this kind of experience want to chime in here ... Inquiring Minds Want to Know ...

'Cause there's more to come.

Says you. Clearly the US embraced Biden, and he's dumb as a rock. If you think there is no MSM bias, then compare how they treat Biden compared w/ Quayle (and Quayle is clearly 10x smarter than Biden.)
Obama ain't exactly a rocket surgeon either.

Says me? Says the conservative right as well. The author goes to great lengths to attack the left for their attacks, but he ignores the fact that the conservative leadership automatically started attempting to reimage her almost from the start. The strange thing is the first time we really got a chance to see the real Palin was after the election during interviews with the Today show.

Point taken.

However, as I've said before, NPR rebroadcast a Feb 2008 interview w/ Palin the day she was announced as VP candidate. Between the original broadcast and the re-broadcast, many of us got to hear the real Palin prior to Nov 5.

I suppose it galls me that people don't recognize that some of us did succeed in being informed, and Palin was by no means stupid, and she proved fully ready for national prime time.

Palin really is of humble orgins, and very princpled at that. It gets lost thanks to an extremely dishonest News Media. She and Todd made $150k combined in 2006, neither comes from money or prestige. The only "painting" of her was done dishonestly by the Media

Ziegler has a column on all this today

http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/jziegl...signation/

he's right that very few know she resigned in similar fashion in 2004 from the Alaska Oil and gas commission, leaving a six figure job(she isn't rich) and did so on Princple(what they were doing was wrong).

the Media never let her story and real message get out, with $4 Gas they wouldn't even let her talk about Energy Inpendence, something she happens to know alot about.
