EMU FB promotion
I remember here many good posts about how to leverage movein weekend, Sept 5 and the Army game.

The gist is that this is a GOLDEN opportunity to acquiant new students and parents to the new FB excitment hitting EMU this year.

Anyway, there is a WHOLE page advertisement in the June 30 issue of the Eastern Echo.

Each new student gets 2 game and dinner tickets (assume that is one for the student and one for a parent).

There will be a drawing for computer stuff, Ipod, tuition, etc.

I didn't get the gist of the dinner bit. Would it be at the Convo?

Anyway, the EMU promotions folks are doing their job and doing it well. The rest is up to Ron English.

RE: EMU FB promotion
The two free tickets are for people other than the student. Students, as always, do not need tickets, they merely show their student ID card and get in for free. The two free tickets would be for friends, family, etc. Presumably two people who came to campus with them that day to help them move-in.

I am thrilled that various departments on campus are working together on this event to increase the impact of their individual efforts. Freshmen orientation "Fusion" will benefit and EMU Football certainly will as well.

I have long believed that if you work at EMU and are planning an event you NEED to see if it conflicts badly with another event or to see if you can combine your event with other to make things far better. (Much the same as having the EMU Admissions program "Explore Eastern" in the fall on a Saturday of a home game. It makes sense!)

Now EMU just needs to BEAT ARMY! Go EMU!

RE: EMU FB promotion
Student + 2 tickets is a good idea. Assume two parents.

The tickets apparently are both for the FB game and a dinner.

I know nothing about the dinner.

The only thing I see wrong is the uncontrollable, the UofM game is a 3:30 game. Wish it was at noon.
