Sanford fell in love
After reading those e-mails you could tell this was a sophisticated man who fell in love. He'd be better off getting a divorce and marrying the girl.

Tragic

Listen,

I'm willing ready and able to pile on any hypocrit but I don't get that out of those e-mails. Here's a guy who actually fell in love. Those notes were almost poetic. People all over the world get divorced.

We in America have became so quick to throw away marriage, it doesn't matter if you are Christian or Atheist, somehow if we justify it by saying "I deserve to be happy" it's okay to throw away a marriage. Was the guy miserable when he married his first wife? If he grew tired of his first wife, who's to say he won't fall out of love with this woman. Marriage should be a life long commitment and if you start trying to trade up to something you believe is better you will never find happiness.

Yes they do. The right thing to do is if you're going to piss away your marriage and break the vow you took to begin with, have the respect enough to not doink another woman before you get it finalized.

Adding adulterer to divorce just makes it worse.

They started calling it "Drive Thru Marriage and Drive Thru Divorce" a couple of years ago.

The gist is, that you can Drive Thru a Fast Food type Marriage hole, than drive around to the other Window for your Quicky Divorce.

Sounds pretty on track for the Hollywood and D.C. sects (or Insects for a better term)

And no Robert, the term "Sects is not to be confused with Sex" ..... 04-rock

Haven't you guys heard. The Sanford affair is Obama's fault.

"This Sanford business, I’ve got to tell you one of the first thoughts that crossed my mind with Mark Sanford. What he did defies logic. This is more than being 180 degrees out of phase because of lust or love…This is almost like I don’t give a damn. The country’s going to hell in a handbasket. I just want out of here. He had just tried to fight the stimulus money coming to SC. He didn’t want any part of it. He lost the battle. He said what the hell. The federal government is taking over. I want to enjoy life.”

Marriage is a commitment between to people. Don't get in it unless you are committed. The minister that married my wife and I sat down with us and had a great bit of advice....."Folks...If there is any reason you can think of to NOT to get married...then I strongly urge you NOT to do it."
He was correct...If you are not committed...it will either be a unhappy union or one likely to fail.

You can tell global warming wasn't one of his main causes. That's one hell of a carbon footprint going to Argentina.

+1 He drove a stake through five relationships with this asinine stunt.

At that point, you would be free to remarry, but you should also get "the chair", so you may only be able to find time to be Big Jake's toy while on death row.

Didn't Scott Petersen recently get married while on Death Row?
And how can you forget the Menendez Brothers... they both got married while in the joint.

I totally hate the man's actions against his wife...but did you read those e-mails? He actually put some thought into it. I thought all of America had drifted towards the "Hey, you're kinda hot" letter
