Here is the stupidity of your argument Mach. you really are trying to argue that somehow Fox using RNC talking points is so much worse because of the typo thing. You conveniently ignore people like MSNBC using media matters and daily kos for their material. You ignore the numerous examples of the double standard in the media in how republicans are treated versus democrats.

As with nearly every debate you've ever engaged in on this board you lack the foundational ability to form an argument based on logic. You're a drive by poster. You find one thing and zero in on it while ignoring all other things that dispute it. Either you lack the ability to comprehend counter points or you lack the ability to refute them so you just ignore them.

Either way, your schtick is getting old.

I know, it's as obvious as the nose on his face.

Obama's dinner joke: Press in bed with me
President laughs at correspondents gala, crediting those who made him 'celebrity'

President Barack Obama joking with the media

At the 65th Annual Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner last night, President Barack Obama openly acknowledged that mainstream journalists are to be credited with making him a celebrity and even joked that an NBC news anchor is in bed with him.

"Why bother hanging out with celebrities when I can spend time with the people who made me one?" Obama asked the crowd of black tie journalists and media personalities gathered at the Washington Convention Center. "I know where my bread is buttered."

The president's joke-filled speech included friendly jabs at political allies and foes alike, including Rahm Emanuel, Hillary Clinton and Fox News.

His joke about "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams, however, raised the ire of critics who have complained about the media's lack of objectivity in granting Obama favorable news coverage:

"I have to admit though, it wasn't easy coming up with fresh material for this dinner," Obama said. "A few nights ago, I was up tossing and turning trying to figure out exactly what to say. Finally, when I couldn't get back to sleep, I rolled over and asked Brian Williams what he thought."

Video of the president's gag lines, including the Williams joke at roughly the 4:40 mark, can be seen below.

And while the president's joke was likely a reference to NBC's "Inside the Obama White House" program, in which Williams and a camera crew shot a reported 150 hours of occasionally intrusive footage at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the double meaning of a reporter "in bed" with the president wasn't lost on some critics of the press.

"Although this is a funny joke, it's actually sad because the joke's really on us," commented Noel Sheppard, associate editor of NewsBusters, "for the underlying truth is that Williams and NBC are indeed in bed with the new administration, and everybody present including the guest speaker knows it."

Sheppard continued on his website, "Not only does Obama clearly understand who got him elected with their disgraceful abdication of journalistic integrity, but they also know it, and rather than be embarrassed by it, they're proud of it."

Obama also treaded on political thin ice with critics of the government's takeover of the auto industry, laughing about nonchalantly giving away car companies.

Crediting a new "plan" for fixing the auto industry to friend Oprah Winfrey, Obama quipped, "If each of you will look under your seat, you will find that you get a car company. You get a car company. And Fox, you get AIG. Enjoy!"

Some of Obama's other jokes found critics in the audience itself, including a dud about Rahm Emanuel and a crack about the floundering fortunes of media companies, a joke that elicited groans and perhaps even boos from the assembled members of the press.

Nonetheless, Obama's self-deprecating style won over much of the audience and elicited both laughter and applause, even when he took yet another swipe at the assembled crowd:

Setting up the gathering of television and media journalists by praising their work, Obama then said, "Despite the flood of new media, I think you're programming is more relevant than ever before … at least that's the impression I get when I read the blogs every day."

RE: NRA supports and protects Domestic Terrorists
Guy's first thing. If I throw a number out there I read it somewhere. Here is a link that shows a poll. Now we all know polls can be manipulated. You could be up to a 1/4 of the pop.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/...rcent.html

21 percent of people identify themselves as Republican. No mix up there.

Now if you want an Uzi for god knows what knock yourself out, but letting a person on a terrorist watch list buy 50 pounds of explosives. All Americans should be saying WTF...

If I have been reduced to a drive by poster it is time to take a break from the spin room. I am not an antagonist by nature and this room has affected how I feel about others. I understand and can appreciate a different viewpoint. I know good people who are Republicans, but I've had a glimpse under the hood of the machine and it's supporters from the spin room and it's frightening.

I generally try to steer away from sympathizers of domestic terrorism. The GOP calls them their energized base. It's scary. You guys have went off the farm.

and one last thing. You will find no equavilent of Fox News in the MSM. You might think it, but no it's simply not the case.

Fox news is the GOP's message machine. Plain and simple.

Roger Ailes – American President of Fox News Channel was a media consultant for Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and Rudy Giuliani. He was also once the executive producer of Rush Limbaugh’s short-lived TV show

Mike Huckabee – Former Republican Governor and Presidential Candidate joined Fox News as a commentator, contributor and host of “Huckabee” on Fox News Channel.

Dana Perino – Former White House Press Secretary, Speech Writer and Assistant to the President, George W. Bush, appears as a political pundit on Fox News.

Karl Rove – Former Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to George W. Bush is now a Wall Street Journal Contributing Writer as well as a political analyst, contributor and frequent guest on Fox News.

Tony Snow – Chief Speech Writer for George H. W. Bush, then guest host for The Rush Limbaugh Show, then regular personality on Fox News Channel, then hosted Fox News Sunday and Weekend Live, then guest host of The O’Reilly Factor, then on to White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush.

Newt Gingrich – Former Republican Speaker of the House turned Fox News contributor and frequent guest. He also hosts occasional specials on Fox News Channel.

Greta Van Susteren – Host of “On The Record” has personal ties to Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. She’s married to John Coale, a one time adviser to Sarah Palin. Greta also played host/handler to Todd Palin at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

John Kasich – Former Republican United States Representative, turned Fox News host, guest host for The O’Reilly Factor and frequent guest on Sean Hannity’s show. He is now preparing to run as a Republican Gubernatorial candidate in Ohio’s 2010 election.

It's statements like this that illustrate my point Mach. Show me where republicans side with domestic terrorism. Show me. I challenge you to do that.

Here's what I mean by your posts are devoid of logic. You think the NRA being suspect of the terrorist watch list means they support them. That is stupid. They are suspect of it because it is notorious for putting people on it that shouldn't be. Senator Ted Kennedy found himself on it at one point. The methodolgy they use for putting people on there is pitiful at best. Pointing that out is not supporting terrorist as you asserted.

See if you ever bothered to venture outside of your bubble, you'd realize that. Maybe you should take a break from the spin room and use that time to study what logic and reason are and how they should play a role in the formulation of any political point of view.

You should have been prepared for a war as soon as you posted on this board.... anything slightly critical of the NRA.

(1) BS.
(2) More BS. You continue to claim that you have an open mind and it's just not true. You have beliefs and that is fine but you post over and over and when others aren't swayed to your way, you go on and on about how closed minded and unmoving we are while making claims about yourself that just aren't true. Dude, you just are not converting anyone.
(3) You have lost your f'n mind.

Have a nice trip.

For the record Mach needs to learn proper usage of the English language.

"Have went off the farm" ?

Also as a gun owner i think the NRA is so full of themselves and the whole situation that anything they say is complete and utter nonsense.

We’re concerned about the quality and the integrity of the list,” said Andrew Arulanandam, a spokesman for the NRA. “There have been numerous studies and reports questioning the integrity, and we believe law-abiding people who are on the list by error should not be arbitrarily denied their civil rights” under the Second Amendment.

So by this twisted logic Mohammed Atta should of been granted access to fly because who knows if he was put on a terrorist watch list by mistake. 50 fckin pounds of explosives to a little Timmy McVeigh. R U Insane!!!!!! Anyone who supports such nonsense was raised in an epoxic environment as a child. BRAIN DEAD!!!!!

So you can read. Comprehension must be the problem then.

The comprehension problem I have is what you ever mean with your posts. When it's the GOP, you're against the Patriot Act, profiling, and terror lists. When it's the Dems, those things are fine, and anyone who opposes them supports terror.

You're consistent in one thing: blind loyalty to the Dems.
