Is it time to start a grass roots movement?
Do we really need to tell the Bozo's in Congress that health care legislation should be developed over a couple of years and include the AMA, Insurance Companies and Industry leaders to keep it market based?

Do we really need to tell the Beltway Bandits that Cap and Trade will Kill American industry and drive inflation through the roof? I mean increasing energy costs by 400% on consumers. HERE'S AND NEWSFLASH!!!!! Everyone is a consumer of energy, Farmers, Manufacturers, Restaurants, etc. etc their increased energy cost is going to be felt by us every time we buy a Big MAC and Fries.

I agree. We're (Congress and Obama) are doing too much too fast. I think 2 things are at play here:

1. A complete noob in the Oval Office.

2. Democrats trying to get as much of their agenda done as possible because when the people figure out they got screwed they'll be voted out in 2010.

A grass roots movement is going to be necessary to undo everything this half-breed is doing.

It seems to me, that every time a leader, or politician attempts to push a major policy shift, they do so with a hyper-sense of urgency. i.e. "the sky will fall if we don't.....Invade Iraq, Bailout Everyone, Privatize Social Security, Change Healthcare.....Right Now!"

These attempts also seem to coincide with a recent election victory, or some other event that politicians believe gives them the "hot hand."

In these situations, it seems that a reasoned debate is the enemy.

I've never understood it, and I doubt I ever will.

+1....You got it. It is all about the "fear factor". Those in power that have the monopoly on the use of force understand that they can use fear to stir public sentiments and emotions. Then...they just pass a bunch of legislation that funnels OUR wages to THEIR programs...be it welfare, environmental issues or military spending. Its never stops...never will...as long as government exists.

So what you want is to give the lobbyists control of our government. Not to mention CEO's tens/hundreds of millions of dollars to over a billion. If you have pre-existing conditions, you are screwed and if a cost is too high, you aren't allowed the procedure or they just drop you as a patient. Yeah, for profit healthcare is SO superior to government healthcare.

Really? It will raise energy costs by 400%? Who said this? What is this persons relationship to energy companies?

I think I can explain it to you very well:

1) He is Half White when he needs to be
2) He is Half Black when he needs to be
3) He is 100% Black when he needs to be
4) He is Half Muslim when he needs to be
5) He is Half Irish Royalty (screw that one)
6) He is now Half King Tut (the Big Eared carving in the Pyramid)
7) He is Half Christian when he needs to be
8) He is Half Conservative when he needs to be
9) He is Half Liberal when he needs to be
10) He is 100% Full of Sh't all the Time

Does this help you understand his statement a little better.

OH YEAH ... One Last Thing ..... "He is HALF Anything he needs to be when it suits the moment" .... you name it and he is Half of it (Half Ass is a Great Start)

You would be complaining if they were sitting around "doing nothing" as well.

Too much too fast? Give me a break. He's doing exactly what he said he was going to do in his campaign, and regardless of whether you agree with those policies or not, at least he's following through.

I think it's safe to say that even those who voted for him and his promises believed he would be thoughtful in implementing them. Little things like at least having a plan.

It is exactly what you think it means. It means it is time for him has to go pick up his white robe at the cleaners.

Btw, remember the apology thread and the Republican saying they have to try to get rid of the racist image of the party? Well, SOAF IS the poster chile of who the Republican was talking about.

So you think the solution is screwing up the outstanding medical system in the US with more treatment options an choices than any other nation? You think it is "FIXING" the problem to force 250 million Americans into a lower standard of care so that an ESTIMATED 46 million uninsured Americans can be covered, there by lower the standard health care for all Americans.

Your all knowing most merciful savior, Lord Obama has already broken both campaign promises with his current proposal to "FIX" health care?

In case you forgot His promises...

Quote:1) If you already have coverage, you can keep that coverage if you choose it will not change.
Nope can't do that and pay to cover the uninsured so more taxes for all companies will result in their dropping Health Insurance, since they won't need to provide, everyone will have the gumbent plan to cover them.

Quote:2) If you are not insured, or want to change to the gubment plan, you will get the same coverage as I, lord Obama, and all US Senators.
Nope can't do that, that coverage is too expensive and it is a higher standard than the typical gubment employees coverage.

Too expensive? Do you have #'s to prove it would cost more than the current for-profit coverage? Reliable source please. What if your taxes go up but your overall spending on insurance goes down? I am sure you would still ***** and moan.
I just realized why you are so pro-more of the same and with the party of "no". You ARE a lobbyist for the heath industry. Now it makes sense.

How about the $1trillion price tag quoted from the democrat controlled Congressional Budget Office that only covers 25% of the 46million uninsured?

We need a market based system that MANDATES that everyone who works is required to contribute enough to pay 10% cost of a basic Major Medical program and the employer will match that contribution with another 40% leaving the Gubment to pay for 50%. This would not be a high end plan rather a high deductible that will insure everyone who does not participate in any other type of employer paid program. Requiring employers to pay 40% of cost should mean better companies will opt to keep better plans which would likely cost no more that participating in the gubment plan.

I personally know people right now that opt of of employer sponsored health care plans so they can have a higher take home pay. Close that freaking loophole so I don't have to sacrifice my good coverage with crappy coverage because of bozo's like this that want to spend their money rather than get group coverage.

So you are advocating a person pay less out of pocket with the original 10% but in order to pay a higher deductible? Isn't that just going to have fewer people get health prevention screenings etc. because it is too expensive thus leaving people vulnerable to diseases. By not getting check-ups, you will save money on insurance costs because more people will die before they get appropriate treatment to save their lives. I know a lot of people who opt out of employer sponsored health care too. Most of those people don't bring home enough to be able to afford to take it.

You know I used to think that, but when you see High-end SUV's and Luxury Cars parked in low income neighborhoods, I figure they could drive a little cheaper car and use that money to cover the basics of health care.

So you think the solution is screwing up the outstanding medical system in the US with more treatment options an choices than any other nation? You think it is "FIXING" the problem to force 250 million Americans into a lower standard of care so that an ESTIMATED 46 million uninsured Americans can be covered, there by lower the standard health care for all Americans.

Outstanding? I think that is definately an exageration. It is ok but there are many that are better overall.

Your all knowing most merciful savior, Lord Obama has already broken both campaign promises with his current proposal to "FIX" health care?

In case you forgot His promises...

03-lmfao How many of them actually work a legit job where insurance is offered? Many are drug dealers. What is a drug dealer going to say? I am an "independent businessman" what does your company do? We sell crack, coke and marijuana. Can you imagine how high(no pun intended) the costs would be?

1. A complete noob in the Oval Office.

2. Democrats trying to get as much of their agenda done as possible because when the people figure out they got screwed they'll be voted out in 2010.

You would be complaining if they were sitting around "doing nothing" as well.

Too much too fast? Give me a break. He's doing exactly what he said he was going to do in his campaign, and regardless of whether you agree with those policies or not, at least he's following through.

Too much too fast, as in signing off on a stimulus bill without anyone in goverment actually reading it. Not doing his homework on the cost of socialized health care. Going all out trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist - global warming.

You do know he'll never win a 2nd term??? Even liberals will be upset with him when they find out he didn't pay for their houses and taxed the crap out of them.
