Quote:Fewer than half of Veterans Affairs centers given a surprise inspection last month had proper training and guidelines in place for common endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies — even after the agency learned that mistakes may have exposed thousands of veterans to HIV and other diseases.

Is this an example of Gubment efficiencies?

Quote:The random inspections were conducted May 13-14 at 42 VA medical centers around the country. They found that just 43 percent of the centers have standard operating procedures in place and have properly trained their staffs for using endoscopic equipment.

43% have standard operating procedures for common equipment?

Won't it be great when all Hospitals operate with the quality of the VA hospitals and we can not choose a different hospital since we are all reduced to the lowest quality health care standard?

GUBMENT Run VA inspections show continued flaws

The question is, is it getting better or worse since Obama got into office? No saying 43% is good, it is clearly not good but if it was in the teens last year, again, not good enough but considerably better.

BTW, in case Rebel missed it in the article:

"Along with Murfreesboro, the agency has said mistakes were identified at a Miami center and at an ear, nose and throat clinic in Augusta"

The ONLY way government can accomplish ANY goal is through coercion and violence. It does NOT respond to market signals and has NO idea what market pricing of a service should be since it simply just steals what it needs to operate. Healthcare should be left to the marketplace and those that can not afford it should be taken care of by charity.

Mass theft healthcare will be a disaster. The rich will simply just pay for good care and the poor will die waiting to be seen by a doctor.

Young people will be duped into thinking this is a great plan. Since they only use doctors for minor issues...it will seem like a great thing to get "free" healthcare. Later on....the reality of this sham will become evident as they realize the bureaucratic nightmare of socialized medicine...And guess what?...They paid into a system that NOW will fail them.03-puke

It is NOT coincidence the Canadians come to the US for medical treatment.03-idea

Young people already buy this sham. A few years ago at BGSU the students passed a referendum forcing an additional fee so they could get "free" x-rays at the health clinic.

As someone who paid his way thru school, I found this offensive. But, when it's your parents' money, it's easy to spend. And when you've been indoctrinated that schools/universities/teachers/professors/etc are always right, it's easy to accept that your best treatment comes from the government clinic.

Anyway, you're right. Many will grow up and finally realize they've thrown their money into a big pit that only enables poor choices and wasteful spending.

If I had a child that was entering government school....I would work as many jobs as necessary...borrow as much as needed...to keep that child from the grasps of this indoctrination system. It ALL starts with this Prussian system that we call....Public Education.
