Except he can't even get that right. We should have shiny roofs, b/c they reflect better across the entire spectrum, and that's only daytime summer. We should have black roofs for summer evenings, and reverse that, in northern climes, for winters. (although snow fall makes that less important).

There's a loopy group out here that wants to ban dark colored cars because they get hotter than light colored cars and it takes the air conditioner longer to cool it down which equals more gas used. My car does not have a thermostat inside, the AC runs constantly at what ever setting I choose.

Oh, and the winters here can be quite cold which requires using the heater. Then there's the defroster which runs dry air (or your windows will fog) conditioned by....drum roll... the air conditioner!

Not for roofs. Most shingles are darker colors.

So is the gov't going to mail out checks to cover the drop in home values when they force people to paint their roofs an ugly white color?
