It's like the old Star Trek episode "This Side of Paradise" If you stop fighting it won't hurt, then you'll be happy. Or the Landru episode. Or the "Earth is Hollow" episode. Come to think of it, Kirk did go around and interrupt people's happiness quite a bit.
