Well, there is always Texass. You can be near GWB and his father. Not to mention the GWB library. Oh, when they seceed from the US, you won't have to worry about paying the high US/state/local taxes anymore. You got that right! Whatever goes on in Indiana is nothing compared to what goes on in Illinois, Crook County, and Chicago. As an alternative, I would consider staying in Illinois, but outside of Crook County. If I had my choice (without consideration for job), I would move to Wisconsin if I had to stay in the Midwest. However, no matter what, the day after I retire I am leaving the Midwest for someplace south. And, it will be someplace with minimal to no blatant government corruption.

Dog Fan: Wisconsin? Wisconsin, while scenic in some areas, is the last place you would go if you had financial concerns. With respect to WI, think California...tetering on financial disaster, but with crappy weather.
