This Is Shocking!!!!!!!!
Federal agency warns of radicals on right
9-page report sent to police
By Audrey Hudson (Contact) and Eli Lake (Contact) | Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Print[-][+] Font Size E-Mail AlertsTell a FriendGot a Question? You ReportClick-2-ListenYahoo! BuzzThe Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

The White House has distanced itself from the analysis. When asked for comment on its contents, White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said, "The President is focused not on politics but rather taking the steps necessary to protect all Americans from the threat of violence and terrorism regardless of its origins. He also believes those who serve represent the best of this country, and he will continue to ensure that our veterans receive the respect and benefits they have earned."

The nine-page document was sent to police and sheriff's departments across the United States on April 7 under the headline, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."

It says the federal government "will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months" to gather information on "rightwing extremist activity in the United States."

The joint federal-state activities will have "a particular emphasis" on the causes of "rightwing extremist radicalization."

Homeland Security spokeswoman Sara Kuban said the report is one in an ongoing series of assessments by the department to "facilitate a greater understanding of the phenomenon of violent radicalization in the U.S."

The report, which was first disclosed to the public by nationally syndicated radio host Roger Hedgecock, makes clear that the Homeland Security Department does not have "specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence."It warns that fringe organizations are gaining recruits, but it provides no numbers.
The report says extremist groups have used President Obama as a recruiting tool.

How far will the administration go with their political agenda?
Does not have any lnowledge of right wing groups planning action and NO numbers to support their position? Hell, you couldn't pass a course in college with at least some FACTS.

Another article:

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=94803

Is there any conservative group she doesn't attack?

Unless my history fails me, it is usually the left that turn violent and make demands during economic hardships. Look at Europe these past few months. Look at the Viet Nam war protests....civil rights movement.

There was a state out west(I cant remember which one) that recently called out Ron Paul supporters as enemies just like this document is doing. Most Ron Paul supporters want nothing but the government to leave them alone, basically just libertarian views. The government is doing this over and over recently. Interesting...

I gave the repubs $50 about 6 years ago. That is the only time I have ever given them money. I am going to give them $500.00 this week to fight these idiots who are ruining our country. This is ridiculous!! The left has been openly and actively trying to destroy this nation for 50 years, they are now succeeding. Got to have a REAL change in the next congressional election, or else our country will not be worth living in in 20 years.

20 years?
You are a hopelessly incurable optimist.
Although I'm not sure your solution is a good one.
I have no confidence in the republicans either.
If they had lived up to their Contract with America, neither they nor we would be in the mess that we are today.

I'm guessing this was meant to respond to my 20 years comment and not to my Missouri comment.

UMMMMMM .... since the "Clowns & Fools" are so intently watching the "Right Wing Extremist" ......

I wonder what the 'Left Wing Extremist" are sneaking in under the Radar ?????

But then that is the "Crew of Bilbo Soros & William Ayers", and those kinds of "Good Citizen Left Wing Crazed Extremist" are welcomed at "Da Howze of Barry Hussein".

William Ayers=Fine Upstanding American Bomb Making Flag Burner .... Timothy McVeigh=Bad Mean Old Bomb Making Azzhole ... Ayers/McVeigh ... 01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle

This is simply the first volley in 'White Howze' disinformation plan, to instill utterly virulent and contagious fear in the American Populace over all the "Bubba's and their Assault Weapons", so they can get around to actually suspending Habeas Corpus and Posse Comitatus and declare Martial Law over all the land.

And they call us Conservatives "Nut Jobs" .... well they can "Teabag My Scrotum" !!!!!! 04-rock

The thing about those guidelines are ... they are trying to profile the behavior of certain individuals. If you saw the Dick Morris youtube clip about Obama "Rescinding the Declaration of Independence" - I told my wife that was what would get Obama assassinated, not his skin color.

You have to look at the inverse of your statement... the extreme right wing folks that may be likely to act upon their views are also likely to be Ron Paul supporters and post on internet message boards. If you narrow down other aspects of their behavior to the point that you get a small set of folks that you can investigate in more detail, then you get to the purpose of profiling. The supposition - accurate or not - is that you will have necessarily identified anyone willing to take violent action and you can monitor and nab those that actually take steps to do so. Now does that work? It theoretically applies as well to Ron Paul message board posters as it does Muslims with sweaty foreheads in the bag check line at the airport. I'm sure neither group is any happier than the other at the fact that they're in the government's sights.

As someone elegantly posted in one thread "sign me up" (essentially profiling likely liberal or Muslim extremists), to which he already had in another thread (expressing outrage at profiling RPTs - Ron Paul Types).

RE: This Is Shocking!!!!!!!!
The government seizes it's power and control in times of chaos. First they help create the chaos, then use it as an excuse to step up and seize more control and power. They create a void or vacuum and then fill it, so to speak. This is what happened in NAZI Germany, and the meteoric rise of Adolf Hitler, and it's happening here now. You do remember Hitler's meteoric rise to power. The burning of the Reichstag, Feb, 27 1933. The Chaos in Germany after WWI. Currently, who has had a meteoric rise to power? History does repeat itself. The ones in power, be they Repubs or Dems, Communists, Socialist, Marxists, Atheists, Anarchists, Anti-Semites, Capitalists or Dictators, once in power they only have to keep scared a small percentage of the population to remain in power, hence the propaganda efforts are rolled out. Americans would do well to consider more closely who we put in power, and not be led around by the nose by the unadulterated MSM.

Now I hear, they are profiling Veterans because they have been trained to kill. It's absolutely absurd. But people eat it up because it's put on the table in front of them by the corrupt MSM.

Shocking, is putting the power of the Free World in the hands of a fraud, a usurper. Show me the birth certificate.

spend some time at Paul worshiping

Prisonplanet.com
Infowars.com
Stormfront.com (warning, neo-nazi site).

all of these people can be identified, more times than not, as Paul supporters. there is alot of overlap between their extremism and just the average "I hate the Govt., its too big" types, unfortunately.

What makes them Tim Mcveigh types, is the fact they likely really beleive everything they are saying. And if you really beleived some of their crap, at that point you can justify doing just about anything in response.

Alex Jones, Paul's buddy, has been telling people and Profiting from(safely I might add), that the Bilderbergers are about to exterminate 2/3's of the world's population. If you are buying his b.s. you would likely be willing to do just about anything in response.

I don't know where you have come up with this opinion, Fox News or whereever, but you are unbelievable misinformed. I am a Ron Paul supporter. There are numerous Ron Paul supporters on this board. We arent gathering a militia to defend our freedom, blowing up buildings, or plotting to overthrow government. So quit trying to paint us as kooks. Ron Paul supporters and the Republicans that have been labeled as dangerous by this recent report are acutally fighting this fight against big government together. And its not the RP supporters on this site telling everyone make sure they have their guns so they can be ready to fight the government, so get over it.

RE: This Is Shocking!!!!!!!!
I'm still just shocked that people like GGniner still think Ron Paul supporters are kooks when Ron Paul was the only candidate running in the last election that called for a return to constitutional governemnt. The same thing republicans are gushing over Rick Perry for right now. Ron Paul has been saying it for much longer and was the only candidate wanting to increase freedom and liberty in this country. But republicans would rather have multiple wars going on overseas that are accomplishing nothing, than constitutional government. So he never had a chance.

Don't you realize that the "More Common Sense the Man Makes in his Arguments", the harder THEY have to put what he says down.

And they need to Slam Dunk Ron Paul hard.

Now I don't agree with everything he says and unfortunately, his Straight Forward approach to quelling Tyrannical Government has garnered him some truly "Out There Space Cadets" who are on a Tangent from the 10th Ellipses Plane or some such where, but the Big Dawgs fear what the man has to say none-the-less.

They must keep Ron Paul seen as a Fringe Element or they will lose their asses off to him if people start actually hearing what he has to say.

Just my $.02 on why Ron Paul gets a daily scathing ....
