Good shooting Trip. BTW, they're not pirates, according to Pelosi they're undocumented passengers.

On a serious note, I wonder who will be the first ones to scream that the pirates didn't have a trial and had their civil rights violated. I'm serious.

Another thing to consider is where do you put the surviving pirate? We have jails for criminals, POW camps for prisoners of war, Gitmo for enemy combatants, but where do you put a pirate and keep him away from the douche bag lawyers who will claim he's the victim?

Probably the Federal Detention Center in New York City because they are going to try him in the Southern District of New York. Court appointed counsel, etc.

BERLIN, Germany (CNN) -- A polar bear attacked a woman at Berlin Zoo Friday afternoon after she climbed a fence and jumped into its habitat during feeding time, police said Saturday.

One adult polar bit her several times after she plunged into the moat, police said.

Zoo workers tossed rescue rings toward the woman to hoist her out and distract polar bears swimming nearby, said Goerg Gebhard, a Berlin police officer.

At one point the woman fell back into the water and was grabbed by a bear before she was eventually hoisted to safety.

"They saved her life," Gebhard told CNN.

The woman was severely injured and was being treated at a hospital, police said.

It's unclear why the woman entered the bear habitat, but police issued her a citation for trespassing.

Obviously the woman must have thought she was at the "World of Coca-Cola" Downtown. Lots of people meet this polar bear.

I don't think any dealing will be going on after all. Certify the Pirate as an adult and give him 20 years?? Or let the kid Pirate go? The spin has already started.

Stay tuned, for surely the rest of this story will continue to come up like invisible writing held over steam.

Some background of child “soldiers” in Somalia, another foolish name for what is really: kidnapped children pressed into slavery by the military.

DATELINE
January 12, 2007

There’s word Friday from aid agencies that children are being used as child soldiers in Somalia. UNICEF and Save the Children are calling on armed groups to release any children from their ranks or detention centers.

As for child soldiers, Balslev-Olesen says, “We have during the past month of conflict unfortunately seen and documented situations where children have been forced out of schools to join the militia of the ICU (Islamic Courts Union). We have reports of warlords…coming back to places in Somalia. We are seeing the bad habits of the past that children are part of the militia of the warlords."

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Justice Department was considering whether to prosecute a detained Somali pirate in Washington or New York, officials said following the harrowing rescue of a cargo ship's U.S. captain.

The decision will determine where the pirate will be flown in what is shaping up as the first U.S. piracy case in recent memory.

Somali media were identifying the captured pirate as 16-year-old Mohamed Abdi, according to the Somali Justic Advocacy Center in St. Paul, Minn.

The other three pirates were killed Sunday in a military operation that rescued Capt. Richard Phillips, who had been held hostage aboard a lifeboat for days. A fourth pirate was in discussions with naval authorities about Phillips' fate when the rescue took place.

Both piracy and hostage-taking carry life sentences under U.S. law.

Watch for a remarkable transformation in pirate tactics.

Each pirate boat, each pirate port, each pirate house will now be surrounded and manned by women and children. Any action against these women and children will be seen as excessive and criminal.

Then watch as world opinion quickly changes to support the "Somali Coast Guard" collecting "Taxes" from "Illegal" ships in "traditional Somali waters" in 3....2.....1.......

I will be fascinated to see how the MSM and left spin things, now that their messiah is in charge.

In some ways I almost feel sorry for The One, people don't understand what type of political pressures he has with this stuff.

the troubling thing in all this is that it was the first time in I think 200 years an American ship had been taken like this. Not that I'm suprised given recent events.

I'm glad we took these pirates out, to re-inforce we still carry the big stick and international trade will continue whether they like it or not.

To be sure, killing the pirates send the message other countries have been reluctant to do. The Somali Justice Advocacy Center can stick it where the sun don't shine. The world is getting the picture that crimes committed in International Waters against Americans will result in death. F the other countries, let them fend for themselves, and cry to the UN.

Pirates vow to kill U.S., French sailors

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/...s.revenge/

(CNN) -- Two pirates in Somalia vowed revenge Monday, after the U.S. military killed three pirates and freed a U.S. ship captain who had been held hostage for several days.

Crew members of the Maersk Alabama celebrate after hearing the Navy had rescued their captain from pirates.

The pirates told a Somali journalist that they were angered by the U.S. action, as well as a French raid Friday that killed two pirates and one hostage and freed four hostages.

"We have decided to kill U.S. and French sailors if they happen to be among our future hostages," said Abdullahi Ahmed, a member of a pirate group based at Harardhere, a coastal town in central Somalia.

Members of the U.S. Navy shot and killed three pirates who had been holding Capt. Richard Phillips hostage in a lifeboat on Sunday evening, a military official said. The pirates seized Phillips after a failed attempt to hijack his ship, the Maersk Alabama.

For five days the pirates held Phillips in the lifeboat as U.S. Navy ships closed in and lingered nearby.

On Sunday, U.S. Navy snipers opened fire on the lifeboat after seeing one pirate point an AK-47 at the captain's back, the U.S. military said. The shootings occurred as one pirate was aboard the USS Bainbridge negotiating over Phillips' fate. Watch how SEALs shot three pirates »

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/...nnSTCVideo

Three pirates in the lifeboat were killed. Phillips was not hurt. He was taken to another U.S. Navy vessel, the U.S. military said, where he received a medical checkup and spoke by phone with his wife in the United States. Watch admiral tell how rescue went down »

Pirates in Somalia identified the slain men as Mohamed Ahmed Adawe, Nur Dalabey and Khalif Guled. Two of them -- Dalabey and Guled -- were among the "most experienced men" in a group that has hijacked seagoing vessels for money, Ahmed said.

They were killed two days after the French military freed four hostages, including a child, who had been held by pirates for nearly a week on a yacht off Somalia's coast. In that operation, a hostage and two pirates were killed, the French Defense Ministry said, while three pirates were captured. Watch how pirates roam a vast area of ocean »

The military actions angered Ali Nur, a pirate who is based in Gara'ad, a coastal village in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, in northern Somalia.

"From now on, after the killings by the U.S. and France, we will add some harsher steps in our dealings with hostages, particularly American and French hostages," Nur told a journalist.

The U.S. military acknowledged Sunday that its actions to rescue Phillips could increase the risk of violence.

"This could escalate violence in this part of the world. No question about it," U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Bill Gortney told reporters.

Nur issued a warning to the United States.

"The killing of our boys was aggression, and the U.S. will see what they get from their operation," he said.

GDamnit. A .50 Cal on the stern, bow, starboard, and port side armed by 4 Blackwater specialists with NVGs. Have 8 for a 12/12 rotation. This problem would stop almost certainly by 100%.
